Aside from the white panel sponsor, agreed. Those umbro shirts were excellent.

One of the best days experienced as a Saint. 50,000 of us chanting, 'The Saints.... are coming......' to the tune of the Skids when the teams were coming out. The Carlisle fans I spoke to after said they had never heard anything like it.

Not difficult to spot.......

Quite. Despite my flippancy over the JPT, this thing transcends sport, rivalry...... anything so trite. Fingers crossed for all of the Portsmouth squad.

The year 11's at school today, I cannot image how screwed up/conflicted/confused and generally worried they are feeling. No idea how they will be graded or how this will effect their lives, the only structure and security many of them have ever known just immediately ending. The reactions have polarised between numb shock, depression and rage.

We will be adapting the online learning platforms we use for our homework. At best though, it's going to keep the children treading water, the ones who don't feel engaged with the curriculum they will not bother. I am a GCSE and KS3 Science teacher. There is talk of using the grades from their mock exams, but frankly.... Not a scooby.

Actually feeling heartbroken that I won't be seeing my classes for god knows how long. Online learning will not be a substitute, from any perspective you look at it.

Schools are struggling. In my department 3 teachers are off in isolation, about to lose one who is pregnant. The headteacher is appraising the viability of remaining open on a day by day basis But, take the schools away.... there will be further issues. Society does need to function.

Setting teaching cover work is actually keeping me very occupied. So no need to bury myself in Netflix yet.

No. I'm self isolating until Friday due to developing a cough. I'm currently setting cover work for my classes. The school is struggling with staff isolating/absence, there are not enough cover teachers to go around so they are having to piece together schedules with whichever staff are available. Wanted to see how many children were absent but my registers have already been reallocated from our admin system so cannot see. There are no plans to close, our head is following government advice and we will react accordingly. Contingency measures are being made for online learning when the closures come, whether they will work is another matter entirely. It will be just as reliant on parents ensuring their children are sticking to the schedule as it would be on the children themselves (who, let's face it, will treat it as a holiday. Enforcing any kind of discipline from afar will be impossible.)

Schools are basically germ factories, all those young people with immature immune systems in one place. Schools are a massive risk vector.

Settling in with my 13 month old and wife. It's going to be awful, we are already climbing the walls.

Quite. Playing party politics right now is just about the must vulgar thing that could happen. Quite rightly, science is leading the way. To equate the the rights and wrongs of the scientific route with the politics is simply madness.

Feeling some Mass Effect influence in ST: Picard. Those visions of impending synth related apocalypse.

I think that reducing the spread is not the strategy..... In Boris' press conference he did say there was a need to build immunity. Without a vaccine there's only one way to do that. It's the cold/flu. You can't absolutely stop it spreading.... That is impossible. But, without containment it will continue to spread uncontrollably, especially when 99% of people who probably have it would have been thinking, 'oh great, just another winter bug.'

So, wife and child display symptoms. I feel fine, but I work in a school. So, how do I find out definitively if I or they have this thing? - I can't can I. So, do I risk passing this onto the children?
-
Poor Skates, think they will set a record...... Yet it'll end up behind closed doors/postponed.

Or qualify for Europe.

Had to go, that's just awful.

Sorry to read this. I hope you are well now. Master.... There are no words.

I have willingly taken longer routes and more expensive alternatives to avoid Ryanair previously. They are a horrible, joyless organisation. Almost dehumanising.
-
Dreadful news for the area. This will impact not just jobs in FLybe itself but all the support services at the airports such as Southampton, which I do fear for. Fingers crossed the routes are quickly taken over.

Or the media team cat sat on the keyboard. On the subject of football, one appalling challenge there.
