  1. Only saw the second half but half our players didn't look like they could be arsed. You might as well leave the 'first' choice out if they're going to play like that. Oh, and another complete joke VAR decision. I honestly wonder if these refs have ever played the game. Never handball in a million years.
  2. The Saints Marching site is just full of complete bollocks, I blocked it actually. Pretty sure it's AI generated crap some twat somewhere has set up to scrape saints related news and then spew out clickbait BS articles. πŸ’©
  3. Thinking about that number of number of daft goals just makes me wonder how anyone can not think he's a total fraud? Anyone in any job can make a mistake, but when you double down and say I'm gonna keep doing it again and again against all the evidence... πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ And there was literally no upside to his passing tactics either - it wasn't like we were pulling teams apart and scoring amazing back to front goals and having lots of shots, it was literally just doing nothing good at all.
  4. Big Wuss might have fooled his new bosses that it was 12, actually it was NINETEEN f***ing goals: https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/clubs/error_lead_to_goal?se=719

  6. Well I'm absolutely delighted - that the guy is off our payroll at last. The guy is an absolute fraud and if we'll see if he's learned anything from having his lunch money nicked and getting kicked in round the bogs in the premier league very soon....
  7. Would love if he did, but I can't see it happening, he showed his quality despite how completely shit we were. I imagine we'll ask for 50-60mill and it'll drag on like with the JWP situation and he'll end up going for 40-50 mill. Bet his former manager at Man U would absolutely love to have someone in his squad who can actually play the system he wants, only question is if they can afford it.
  8. Tbh my main issue with Stephens is not his ability in the Champ - I think he's at least above average as a CB in that league. The main issue is his absolutely crap behaviour as captain this season with the 2 sendings off, which he at least deserves to be stripped of the captaincy for.
  9. I see it more like: Players I'd like rid of but we'll be stuck with: Bazunu, Stephens, BBD, Smallbone, ABK. Players I'm pretty neutral about, wouldn't mind leaving but we'll also be stuck with: McCarthy, Sugawara, AA, Manning, Bree, Stewart, Sulemana, Onuachu. Players we should keep but won't be able to: Fernandes, Dibling, Ramsdale.
  10. No chance. They still have a 2nd yeAr of parachute payments and aren't going to sell to a rival. Only way is if someone in the Prem or a top league wants him, pays over the odds and / or he throws his toys out the pram.
  11. I do remember the Pelle grief but was in the 'happy clappy' crowd as I was convinced he was class. Italian mate of mine said he always had ability but only really found his feet with Koeman. Probably was a bit harsh on Clasie, but he was definitely a bit lightweight for the Prem and I seem to remember when Romeu came in that was pretty much it for him. And yeah, no bones with a decent free transfer backup like Martina.
  12. I went for 'pathetic' but you absolutely nailed it - chapeau good sir 🎩. That guy who everyone is like 'f**ks sake mate, either don't get hammered the night before or don't show up' 🀯
  13. If I remember right Koeman got Pelle, Tadic, Clasie and Martina from the Eredivisie. First 2 were brilliant obviously but Clasie I think you'd have to say was a flop and Martina I only remember that incredible goal from miles out, though he was a free I think. You could argue Martin's signings did fine in the Champ - Downes, Manning, Wood, Fraser - the problem is they all weren't good enough for the PL....
  14. The irony is that actually I think height for a CB is probably less of an issue in the Prem than in the champ. Apart from Wood, I can't think of any other strikers whose main threat is in the air? While I would guess there are more physical strikers in the Champ...
  15. Just watched the goals, I mean Smallbone's effort on Odegaard for the winner was absolutely pathetic, you can't do that at any level of football. How all these different managers keep picking him I have absolutely no idea πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ
  16. For all the people hankering after Cooper, Leicester clearly got worse after sacking him so in all likelihood he's waiting around for Farke or Parker to get the boot when I expect he'll be in pole position. He'll still be getting paid so why would he take a pay cut to join us? Like it or not, managers of the level of Rohl, Still or other present Championship managers are what we have to choose from. Lampard just joined Coventry and knows he'd look shit if he jumped ship after half a season. Who else from the Champ would you want then?
  17. After the totally predictable disaster of the 'let's sign the manager's mates and favourites' transfer window last summer, some kind of process / structure sounds good but then the bar is pretty low right now...
  18. I don't think Valery would add anything to the squad either, but I would add that Liam Delap really didn't show anything at Hull last season that said how well he'd do in the Prem. You can't usually get guaranteed 'real quality' of prem ability in the Championship for obvious reasons so it's always gonna be a gamble of some kind...
  19. I mean, if he can get someone who managed a team to the CL final last year to come to the Championship we need to check his office for mind control drugs or blackmail materials πŸ˜‚
  20. Been taking a break from all things football the last couple of months, but honestly, why do people think that a Championship side - which we will be - should be expecting to hire someone who can coach successfully at a higher level? If they can, know they can, and are acknowledged as so, they'll be waiting for their next go on the Premier League roundabout like Nuno, Moyes and Potter were. It's like people thinking you can get stronger spending a few years in the Championship when the opposite is true. The nature of being in a lower league is you get lower level or unproven talent. The goal is to get the unproven talent that CAN make the step up.
  21. Pretty sure Alonso usually uses 1 FB / CB in his 3CBs at Leverkusen. You could see at times in the 1st half yesterday we were doing exactly what most modern 3CB teams do which is effectively go to 4 at the back when in possession.
  22. As was said, could literally be anything but if he has kids my money would be on the norovirus. Been through school and pretty much all families like πŸ”₯πŸ’©.
  23. Yep, injured, was mentioned in the presser before match I think
  24. You'll see the goals so will summarise the rest. 1st half - mostly pretty even. We look like a sane football team again which is good. The tracking back is much better this week from all players. THB is having a mare, can't seem to pass it properly and not looking great at the back either. A couple of times our press traps them in their defensive third which is nice too. 2nd half - they come out fired up after the break and we're a bit under the cosh, but they don't manage to create any great chances. Delap is just bossing Bednarek. Later in the half Bree seems to end up on him (dunno if the players or manager made the change) and does an excellent job. Scrappy game in the most part not helped by subs. However the last 20 minutes or so they created absolutely sweet FA which is nice for a change. - Wellington was impressive, solid technically, not afraid to take a man on or cross and worked hard getting up and down the left. He didn't look tired until he cramped up suddenly after a great defensive header but not surprising given the awkward overlap with the Brazilian season and his lack of games. -Gronbaek had some nice touches but nothing quite decisive. Clearly a good technical player and also forward thinking / will have a go. Also had a good moment tracking back at some point. - No idea what's up with THB but he wasn't at the races today and then injured himself somehow.

    Ivan Juric

If Rohl had come in when Juric did, there's an extremely high chance he'd have just lost exactly the same 6 games and everyone would now be calling for his head and a new manager next season. The players were just broken by the end of the Spurs game, it was obvious to anyone watching. I said around then I thought it'd be better to have a caretaker till the end of the season as there was a high chance it would be a total shitshow given the low morale and quality of the squad.
