  1. Wonder if he's part of a Cyle to work scheme.
  2. Very Downs-esque.
  3. Must get a kick out of being relegated.
  4. Not really. Overall he's not very good but a lot of people like him because: a) they don't know anything about footy despite watching it week in and out for years b) he made a cumbersome (half a Cruyff turn, no idea of the 'official' name, but it's an easy skill)) pass to a player that led to an attempt against 'that lot down the road' where he was in acres of space as was the receiver i.e. it was a bit open in the middle of the park at that time. Nowhere near fast enough, skilful enough, strong enough, intelligent enough for the league above (would he touch the ball?) so overall not good enough. This league is quite poor in terms of ability so he might look ok against a load of journeymen on huge wages.
  5. I thought our scouts were bankers with first aid qualifications for when someone who knows something falls over in surprise that we've signed a donkey. Or kids on the youth training or something.. Or people who watch videos while they cook. Probably lining themselves up for promotion to VAR.
  6. Have we insisted that he stroll around in the middle of the park and do nothing when we play them?
  7. But realistically, how well would we do if we went up?
  8. Draw, win, win, draw, win.
  9. I can't understand why all of you think Solak is some poor soul with a kind heart and too much money who doesn't know anything and is just being taken for a ride. If anything, putting others in the firing line is his way of creating a distraction for idiots who can't see past the first line. Look at how he's structured the companies: he's made sure he's in charge of what matters. And I suspect he can "find" financing easy enough; it seems to be the norm these days.
  10. They're probably the ones who clap and take selfies all game.
  11. So: He's happy to accept another relegation on his CV for a bit of cash and a chance to play. Although I suspect W Ham just want to reduce their outlay on his wages that they're paying with no likely return. Maybe he thinks he'll outlast the manager when they go down. When W Ham do, they'll look to sell him cause his wages are too high so the merry-go-round will start again. Will look to move in the summer in the hope that W Ham will have amortised his value enough to sell him on the cheap. Will look for another bumper pay-packet. Is likely to end up a free agent who someone will take and their fans will end up saying 'He's good' until they realise he isn't six games in. Presume he'll live in a hotel for a few months, or limited rented accommodation.
  12. Worrying quote from Anker's son: ‘We redesigned the club based on a question: what would a football club look like if it had no human eye and ear? He must have ignored the fact that the fans have eyes and ears and the former are quite integral to watching the footy.
  13. But to be fair he did miss out on getting a foul and went in a bit hard on someone and the ref told him to stop being an idiot and booked him which I agreed with: his blood had risen. It didn't last though so I just took it as the ref doing a good job and then him calming down and getting on with playing footy. Then we had the rest of the game with very little incident of interest.
  14. I'd say they were pretty much one and the same bar age, nationality and the like. I'll have to look out for the hand-waving when the goals go in.
  15. Interestingly one player said he makes things simple post-Still (THB) yet Scienza when asked what we did differently (when winning) indicated not a lot, if anything.
