I like Robinson and hope we can keep hold of him but he isn't on Diblings level. Dibbers has the potential to be one of the best in the world. For me the question mark is of his mentality as he had the heart the size of a pea at times last season. Maybe being coached by a top manager like David Moyes will bring that desire out of him. Not going to be easy mind, Everton have some good attacking players this year in Grealish, Dewsbury-Hall & N'diaye.

There are 92 clubs in the Premier League & EFL. Every football fan thinks their better players are good enough for just 6 of those 92 sides which is just bias nonsense, considering those 6 clubs have the pick of the best players across the continent. If Robinson can get to the point where he is attracting attention from clubs like Everton & West Ham, playing in the Premier League in front of 50k+ crowds like Fernandes & Dibling have achieved then he'll have done very well for himself.

We need to get rid of this dullard.

The board knew Martin's philosophy yet they bought him a load of duds instead of pushing the envelope and bringing in the kind of calibre of player that embraces the system. Too many happy clappers, some are delighted we sold Fernandes and Dibling so close to the end of the window where we can't spend a bean. The board will pocket the bulk of those funds you watch.

A good manager who wasnt backed here and neither has he at Rangers. Give the man good players to work with and watch him cook.
-
Sack the board.
-
What a palaver.
-
Agreed, for all Martin's faults he wasn't sufficiently backed by the board and was a convenient scapegoat. This Still fella looks a turkey.
-
Get this fraud out of the club.
-
This result wouldn't have happened had we strengthened in the window accordingly. The board are a shambles.

Dibling has potential to be 5x the player Fernandes is but right now thats just potential. I would have loved Dibblers to stay but he threw the towel in 2nd half of last season and wanted out. For that alone we needed to have got rid as soon as Everton made their first bid. According to journalists we went cap in hand to EFC after they had walked away from the deal, in which thankfully they went through with the deal. Unfortunately clubs will now know we have cash on the hip and will have us over pay for our own targets. A spectacular cock up from this useless board of ours. The only thing going in their favour is keeping hold of Fernandes.
-
Keeping Fernandes is key to our promotion hopes. If the board dare sell him to the 'ammers I'll not step back foot in the ground.
-
Should have been done previously but thankfully looks like its concluded well for all parties. Dibling gets his dream move to a big club and we get more than fair market value. Now come on Saints get spending the money !!
-
The problem is after the Dibling affair clubs will be reluctant to do business with us in fear of our board pulling a fast one. What a palaver.
-
Agreed and unfortunately we haven't done anywhere near enough business this window to convince players that promotion is a near certainty this season. The board need to pull their finger out but I remain doubtful that it will happen.
-
Looks a decent player, hopefully RC Lens' board are not as delusional as ours and demand £50m + sell on clause.
-
Excellent and thought provoking post pal. Dibbers is simply not worth the fee our board are holding him ransom for and we run the risk of losing him on the cheap next summer which is barking mad. We should have snatched Everton's hands at £35m with add ons and put a sell on clause in for good measure. That kind of cash could help us bring in 3 good signings to push us on this season. The squad needs bolstering yet some fans want us to hold onto a lad who didnt want to know 2nd half of last season when the going got tough.
-
Especially when our clueless board price them all out of a move. Just whats going on at this club?
-
Thrown the towel in 2nd half of last season & looked like he couldn't be arsed today. The board are gambling with our promotion hopes keeping him around the place. Do the ethical thing and let the boy leave to bigger things whilst we bring in players who actually want to be here and fight for the club and fans.
-
Still is making a rod for his own back here. Dibbers wants to leave and we need a couple more signings. Take the money and bring in players that will be fighting for the cause over the full season not just half of it.
-
An interesting season awaits. For me we need at minimum 3-4 in the door to feel comfortable in the promotion hunt.
-
The one player we cannot afford to lose this summer in my opinion.
-
Being selfish I would like to keep him for another season as I think he has the potential to develop into a top top player. On the other hand, I do think we are pricing him out of a dream move to Everton and are holding him somewhat to ransom. After the 2nd half of last season, I dont think he is the type to get his head down and work hard if he isnt 100% commited. For that reason I would snatch Evertons £35m offer and reinvest the cash in 2-3 solid signings to help us get back up. Free the boy and then back the manager in the market.
