Hampshire then
-
And come tomorrow, the South Coasts ONLY professional league club! (but you could say that now! )
-
Never doubted it, get in!
-
Pompy level, Dindane, 1-1. Arse. 6th min of added time or something ridculous.
-
David Meyler sent off seconds after coming on, elbowing. Sunderland down to 9.
-
Cattermole sent off. 10v10 now.
-
Neil Allen: ''match v Sunderland - should have been a penalty, baffling decisions from the ref, sent off the wrong player until guilty one admitted it'' ''winding up order - club still confident of getting it overturned but are still in talks....Storrie and Jacob at the match tonight. Nothing sorted out, everyone waiting and nobody knows anything apart from those two and HMRC. Club owes £5m and have offered £1.8m plus installments guarenteed against future investment, and have to try and convince HMRC that someone s coming along to pay up. Vibrant club with fantastic supporters, tremendous supporters and will be a queue of buyers if they go into admin despite the ground/training facilities. Chanrai/Gaydamek don't want admin and are trying v.hard to sell. If club gets stay of execution from HMRC, they'll go into admin straight away but will come out fine, local businesses won't be though and some will not survive. Fans resigned to admin and relegation. Fans hate all the people connected over the past few years, can't point blame finger at any one person and don't know where the money went'' Paraphrased, of course. And Avram is sent to the stand for the second half.
-
Sounds like Pompy are clueless against a poor Sunderland side, they are diving/jumping at anything and the crowd are near silent. Even Avram's run on the pitch to complain to the ref just before the end of the half, and as the half time whistle went.... Having to put up with Jackie Oakley and Steve Claridge on 5Live Extra commentary. --Edit In a mo they are having an interview with Neil Allen from the Pompy local rag.
-
Yep. Only 9 players were prepared to play, and they had to forfeit for being unable to play the match. http://www.devachat.com/index.php?showtopic=61363

We'll get more of it after P*mpy next weekend. Win = Pardew is a legend. Loss = Pardew is a moron. Its pain stupid to think that way!

Why does it matter how much we spent this year? Say over the 5 year plan, it was always agreed to spend £12m. 1st year - £3m 2nd year - £2m 3rd year - £2m 4th year - £2.5m 5th year - £2.5m etc. Now, those wouldn't be hard and fast budgets, if the players became available at a particular time, I'm sure the club would have gone for them by adding to one season budget and taking from another? These players weren't brought in for the sole reason of getting out of League One at the first attempt, or else we'd be buying another XI for next season which is ridculous. They were brought in for the future, and because they were available now.

I love how when we win, the forum is full of threads praising AP's tactics, saying how awesome the players are. Yet, when we lose, its how crap his tactics are, how sh1te the players are, how he's gotta turn things around in one nanosecond. To the vast majority here, theres no grey areas. AP's either God, or RL in a mask it seems. Genuine hysterics in both directions!

I bet The Echo are crying over that missed exclusive! Congrats to the family though

Saintsweb Prediction Fun-What happens to Pompey in court?
gaz replied to PaulSaint's topic in The Lounge
I suspect they get away with everything and some previously unheard of Russian sugar daddy takes them over, wipes the debt but then launders arms-money through the club...wait a minute... Actually, I hope they dissappear and the PL make a huge example of them for messing everyone (the league, staff, other clubs) around, but I doubt they will. -
Munto Finance v Markus Liebherr (Notts County v Saints)
gaz replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
Thats the second Notts County takeover this season. Munto walked away and Peter Trembling bought the club and was in talks for the past week or two, but that group have apparently walked away too. They are back to square one looking for investment or a buyer, and also have a winding up order on them. -
I don't think so, Chainrai probably isn't willing to throw even more money into the black hole without much hope of getting a return. Even if it all comes up rosy, they still have a big squad of high earners, doubious land overship, and generally poor fortunes on the pitch. Someone will need to come in, splurge a wad of cash on buying it and clearing the debts (because they can't do a Glazer and refinance to the hilt - nothing to secure that against), and THEN chuck a bundle at fixing the problems (training facilities etc). That could be £100-150m surely?
-
May I humbly suggest to Her Madjesty.... Peter Storrie: Off with his head?
-
Look how many players 'Arry has brought in from his previous club....
-
''Redknapp received a sum of around £100,000. He said: "I got a percentage of sell-on [fees] in my contract if I sold a player. The club paid me five per cent [for Crouch]. I went to Milan because I had signed a new contract that said five per cent but I said, 'No, when I signed Crouch it was 10 per cent, so I want 10 per cent' and Milan said, 'OK.'"'' http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-and-comment/tax-authorities-to-grill-redknapp-over-payments-from-portsmouth-1797791.html

Re: Azougy.... are Pompy lying to the PL? Can the PL request to see his contract? ''Under the Premier League's fit and proper person test, nobody convicted of dishonesty offences can act as a club director, but the league does not believe Azougy's position can be classed as that senior, so it is powerless to act. "We have asked numerous times for clarification of Mr Azougy's role," a Premier League spokesman said. "Each time the board has said he is a consultant on a short-term contract." The spokesman added that in regular meetings the Premier League holds with Portsmouth to clarify the club's parlous position, it insists Azougy must not be present. "We are still actively pursuing the precise role Mr Azougy is fulfilling," he said, "to ensure it does fall short of acting as a director or shadow director."''

I think the only person that'll come out of this with any shred of dignity and reputation is Avram. If they go belly up (which they will), then it had nothing to do with him, and he only could work with whatever wasn't sold last month. If they stay up, then it'll be down to his coaching and management ability. Everyone else at the club has a degree of blame (Players for not offering to forfeit wages for a month or two like other sides have done in the past, Storrie/Jacob/everyone else at a high level for gross financial mis-management etc). Oh, not the normal club staff, but they are Skates though.

After the Gaddafi Jr link, don't give them ideas!

Maybe we should rename the thread, seeing as theres unlikely to be a takeover? The Pompy Implosion thread?

Probably one of those no-win no-fee places....thats the only kind that would touch them, they don't have much (any) hope of winning.
