I only wanted to make a point to support the comments of others that Guly does contribute and that the barracking he receives from some quarters isn't really justified, in my opinion of course. Thanks for your responses everyone. Good to see a mixture of views. From my perspective, the two quotes below pretty much sum up my thoughts..... Yes, the benefits of finishing 4th in the Premiership are obvious but I don't ever remember seeing a 4th-placed trophy. Yes, there is prestige with the CL but once you're knocked out no-one cares you were in the competition. Win a cup and your name is on there FOREVER. All my Arsenal supporting mate cares about is the Champions League. I have to admit, his passion for taking (by his own admission) "the money", over a trophy did shake my faith in being a football fan and I felt quite sad for him. When did football fans start cheering their team on for money as opposed to silverware...???

Great game today..... Just having an epic argument with my Arsenal supporting mate. Simple hypothetical question..... As a Saints fan right now, what would you prefer..... Win the FA Cup...? or 4th placed finish in the Premiership...? I won't post my opinion yet, just interested to hear what Saints fans think about this quandary. Over to you.....

Perhaps...... But given the recent reshuffling of squad numbers and the relevance to the positions in which they play I would suggest my original observation makes more sense... ;o)

Has anyone else noticed he's been given shirt number "26" leaving the number "5" shirt still available...? Surely this is even more evidence that he's not the long-term centre back option and we're still looking.

I went on a lads weekend to Riga in Latvia a couple years ago. Saints were on Sky playing away at Burnley and we managed to find a pub with the game on. 10-mins before kick off, low and behold, a local Latvian walked in with a Saints shirt on! Needless to say, the fella didn't have to buy a drink for the rest of the night.

I suppose consideration also has to be given to the Fly Be seating in the Kingsland Stand. I'm guessing Fly Be will continue to be one of the main club sponsors, just at a reduced rate with their name no longer emblazoned across the front of our shirts...? That way the seats can stay.

Yeah, I revived it. Thought it was an excellent idea, a good way to learn some obscure [and most likely completely useless] Saints-related trivia. Much better than sitting on here getting frustrated at the lack of transfer / new kit activity. P.S. if you go back to my answer in Post 778 I think you'll find its correct but never confirmed by Lets B Avenue..... hence another point to me! ;o)
