  1. Rubbish. We've been second to the ball on almost every occasion.
  2. Nailed it
  3. Has Franny joined Dexys Midnight Runners?
  4. What have we been doing for the past 2 weeks

  7. He would have been in on goal
  8. Not sure he did
  9. I think our slow buildup explains why such a high percentage of our goals have come from defenders and set pieces. By the time we get to the opposition box the other team usually have 11 men behind the ball with no space in the box. That makes it very hard for any attacker. This will be especially true at home in the Championship where teams will often sit back and allow a team to slip into tippy happy mode. This is where players that can beat a man/ dribble/ break the lines of defence are going to be critical to our success. Hopefully, the new faces can bring that to our game.
  10. I'm in Portugal but will be cheering on from a bar, with a lager in hand knowing my seat is in the safe hands of my son-in-law
  11. Thanks Rivers. Your two magnificent posts will stay with me long after this match. A heartfelt, emotional and beautifully written piece of prose and an inspiring tribute to your Dad. I lost my own Dad, also a long term Saints fan, after a 5 year battle with grade 4 prostate cancer. One of my greatest memories was when he took me, a teenager, to Wembley in 1976. A day we would reminisce over thereafter. After he retired, we sat together at Saint Mary's from the relegation to League 1 until he became too ill to attend in 2022. Together we cheered on the Saints to two promotions back to the PL and a Wembley trophy. Sport and especially football bonded us throughout our lives and we even played senior football together. I was at his bedside when he passed. One of my besties now sits on the seat that was his and I wear his scarf to matches. What a fitting final tribute to your Dad if we thrash the fishy f*****s this weekend. I know one thing, your two posts on this forum should be printed in their entirety and pinned to the Saints dressing room this week. Who couldn't be inspired by those words to give every last ounce of effort 👌 COYRs
  12. It is a 7 for me until we see how the new players gel and fit into Will Still's style of play. Offensively I think we have improved with Fellows, Azas and Scienza looking like great options. Defensively, I still have doubts about the CB pairings although Roerslev looks like a very sound full back which should help. I would have liked to see an experienced number 9, target man to allow Stewart to bring his fitness up gradually. Bazunu has never won me over, so I would have liked a new first choice GK. Time will tell, starting with the fishy f*****s next week. COYR
  13. Whenever I've seen him play, he's looked a much better defender than Manning and can put a decent cross in. I've never understood why he was never given a decent opportunity.
  14. Because the trees don't need to know?
  15. Never given a proper chance for some reason
  16. Jelert, alert?
  17. Always looked decent when I saw him play
  18. The reason we horde strikers is that we have bought a plethora of low-quality ones
  19. You can't be serious mate I would love to see Stewart knocking them in after the terrible run of injuries he has had, but surely nobody can expect that after the unfortunate time he has had. Stewart's stats since he joined us. So that is, 25 games in 3 seasons, 3 goals and 1 assist.

  21. My point is that with Stewart's injury record, we should have brought somebody in earlier to be first choice with Stewart as 2nd choice.
  22. Probably generated by him bullying our defence for Wrexham. Admittedly that is a low bar. I agree, Carlton Morris would have been a good option.
  23. We won't be able to tell until the new players settle in and we get to see how Still wants to play.
  24. No. But hopefully a better option as target man than we currently have. I would love Stewart and Downs to be successful but I think it is too much of a risk to depend upon that.
  25. There are other options you know.
