He was angling for some pseudo-controversy, as usual. Why even use the rhyme otherwise? To illustrate the agony of choice? Play with fire. Get burned.

Thought it might have been, which is why I asked a question instead of assign a label. I still want an answer though

Absolutely no problem with mack rill either, but the comparison is interesting. How long do you think he'd last if he spammed the main board with as much shíte? "Not long", would be my bet. From that point of view, the only thing keeping these people here is the now-challenged belief that they're Saints fans. I wouldn't expect the mods to do anything about it, and I'm not the sort of person that calls for bans anyway. Thing is, you don't have to be in position of authority to make a difference. In fact, I'd argue that Ohio's original suggestion, a mass ignore (even if you don't use the function itself) is the way to go. This will include ignoring other people who quote their posts. Don't make a thing of it, and it'll be over by Christmas, I reckon. You'll also get the spectacle of seeing ever more desperate measures to get attention (there's another thread with my name in the title today; you can set your watch to these clowns). Famous last words, I know.

Do you ever cut eyeholes in your white pillowcases?

The Euro elections are PR. I'm anti-EU, and thought I'd have to vote UKIP. Will probably vote for NO2EU instead. For me, the whole point is to register a protest vote - the NO2EU thing allows me to do that while making it clear I'm on the left. Don't think they're standing in the South East apart from London, unfortunately.

Careful Bear; Top Gear has many supporters here. Some posters would even abandon gymkhana lessons to be amongst the sad, wet, middle-class crowd of c**ts that fawn over the presenters' every word.
-
In three weeks time, we should be waking up to the results of European MEP elections, which have enjoyed an unprecedented amount of attention due to the emergence of UKIP as a political force, and of course, the debates between Nick Clegg and Nigel Farage. Will strong numbers for anti-EU parties like UKIP and NO2EU cause the big political parties to change course? How will you be voting?

I suspect Clarkson's intent was to do an extremely low-rent version of this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FfIgcL99Ob8 ...keeping all the racists on tenterhooks. He's as transparent as cling film.

The saintbletch "Hilarious fun with words" thread

Clítheroe. Is he? -
I've purposefully kept off this thread for a bit to see if my name turned up. As a sad bastard that spends far too much time posting here, and a good proportion of that duking it out with other posters, it'd be unsurprising if I caught the label. Nowt about any of this is new, save the ratio of interesting-to-shít on the main board. We've always had posters that keep things ticking along. dune used to perform that role, Jamie did and still does to an extent. trousers does it without managing to upset too many people. So what's the diff? Intent, I suppose. Like many others, I'm not convinced that everyone who says they support the Saints actually supports them. Skates don't represent it all, though. Some of the people mentioned so far are defo Saints fans, and for some reason want other Saints fans to feel bad about our chances, or at least the opportunity to whip out the D word (deluded, btw). From a respect point-of-view, the GS and BS accounts are dead, imo. We've got to the point where backs are put up the moment either of them posts anything, leading to bickering on other threads and the creation of threads like this. In the unlikely event that either of them are Saints fans, my advice to them would be to ditch those accounts and return as a new identity. Though I'm sure they'll have a couple of defenders, they're now about as popular as a nonce in the general prison population. For anyone that's píssed off with 'em, just stop interacting with them. Don't reply. Don't react. Let the little tykes post themselves out in increasingly desperate "look at me" efforts. Sure, it's the ostrich way out, but putting your head in the sand is actually the right call on this occasion. Says it all.

Poor Jezza is in hot water again. This time, it's a furore over his use of the N-word. On film too, in an under his breath sort of way. http://www.theguardian.com/media/2014/may/01/jeremy-clarkson-begs-forgiveness-n-word-top-gear Think Jeremy might be facing a tougher crowd this time. Is he done? [video=youtube;DMuO-8S_0Wg]

Somewhat predictably, Lucasfilm have re-asserted that none of the extended universe is canon. Decent article here:- http://www.totalfilm.com/features/5-consequences-of-ditching-the-star-wars-expanded-universe

Good to see two legends of voice acting in the flesh, and snuggling to boot!

First question St. Peter is going to ask:- "Bob. Why'd you do Super Mario Brothers?" Still haven't seen The Long Good Friday. Will hunt it down.

I'm not sure it's relevant. There are loads of brands out there that'd love the exposure of the Premier League and the chance to do a bespoke kit. Don't have to go with the big boys, as LFC have shown. Back in the 1980s all we ever talked before a season about was so-and-so's new kit. Then we had attack of the clones. Damn you, George Lucas.

It's not a religion; although it does masquerade itself as an improved version of Christianity. Everyone is supposed to be able to be a leader. Everyone is expected to get twelve more people. Viewed without the religious specs on, it's just a gigantic pyramid scheme. Fundamentally, I have a massive issue with institutions that actively try to turn you from one thing into another while pretending to do something else. For all the faults of the Catholic Church, I get relatively little crap from the priest about joining up whenever I'm present for a family function; same thing goes for CofE. It's a decent discussion to have, because I think more of these charismatic and potentially dangerous churches are going to spring up as wider society becomes more secular and day-to-day conditions get worse.
-
All the more reason to do it, imo. If Krueger is trying to up the commercial side, a teeny bit of distinction in the form of a bespoke kit would separate us from "teams like us".

You can certainly suggest it. They tried to recruit me numerous times, under the aegis of a then-respected movement. Like the others they tried to get, I was going through some difficult times. I'd had a huge bust up with a close relative (resolved now) on one occasion. Second time was after the dog died. Angry? No more than I am now, but I wasn't myself. Let's also clear up a lie that you've introduced here. I think it's perfectly clear what my feelings on this organisation are. I'm not suggesting for one second that any right-minded, rational person should go near them. They may have dropped their G12 affiliation, but they've been recently been lambasted in the press for running a "pray the gay away" course, and they still operate cult-like practices, such as trying to get members in through means of deception. I hope we're clear. Nevertheless, I think you should speak to them regardless. It's a win-win for me. Either you emerge an indoctrinated muppet (unlikely), or you'll spend several weeks wrecking their heads (my vote).

Start here I'll give you more homework when you're done.

Boiled down, Barry is interested in exploring belief. I'm interesting in putting him in touch with some churches that try to bring it about very quickly in adults, despite the fact that I spent years doing the exact opposite. At this point in time, Barry's so engrossed that he has entered a zen-like state called "posting without thinking". I have no plans to beg Barry for an apology all year for his accusations of lying. I laid similar charges of mendacity at his doorstep, and while I'm a big enough bloke to 'fess up and make with the sorries, Barry isn't. I'm satisfied with this outcome, but I'm waiting with baited breath to see if Barry will go on a journey of spiritual awakening with fundamentalist Christians. I think we're up to speed now.

It is for you, as demonstrated on this thread. As for our year-long identity crisis, you could have ended it at any point, but didn't. I suppose it's a question of wanting attention.
-
I suppose the system could be subverted in that way As I said though, all done in 2006-2007. Regardless of whatever else I get up to on this site, lying isn't one of them.
-
Hmm, and just a few posts ago, you were calling me to admit I'd made it all up. Didn't actually write anything on that page; just pulled together disparate sources and links (there was nowt critical on it before I started). All of this happened between 2006-2007. In something of a small victory, found out that the church in question eventually ended up dropping their G12 affiliation. Personally, I think it's more to do with not having to produce a kickback to Colombia, but I'm sure they framed it all in altruistic language. I honestly don't know whether I've had any impact beyond the people I know I prevented from joining ( unfailingly, all the targeted recruits were having short-term difficulties of some kind ). Instead of starting more threads, why not employ your Google'd knowledge to tell me which other Church movements have grown quicker than G12 in its heyday. You're the expert and all that. I know of one.
