  1. I reckon Jay Rod was going. One of the most prolific English goalscorers, plus he'll get you something from nothing. He'll even score on his arse. How many other English strikers are that committed?
  2. I moved over to Nexus a while back. Love the range, largely because you get a "pure" installation with no vendor crap attached. The lack of memory card was potentially an issue, but after VFTT's advice, was able to get an OTG cable which allows you to plug USB devices in. Playing SNES games on a Nexus 5 with a PS3 controller is pretty sweet. It'll probably be the best Droid tablet power-wise when launched.
  3. Want one straight away? I'm holding out for the new Nexus 10.
  4. They're not. Of course, a big problem is that a good proportion of main board content fits into this category:-
  5. Nah, it's not. I'm a Champions League píss-taker. That pair couldn't get out of Skrill Premier (and would think Les Dennis jokes were the path to promotion, funnily enough). If only you could afford the five quid, eh mate?
  6. Kinda. Except in Manchester, there's every chance that with your wit and guile, you might not pull, and might not get a sore arse. Here, you're pretty much guaranteed to f**k yourself for eternity with penile matter of your own creation. Enjoy Rick, eh?
  7. Bazza, get yourself off to Manchester for a night in the gay village. Given the choice between that and posting your thoughts on SaintsWeb, the Manc option will leave you with an arsehole that doesn't quite feel as sore.
  8. I don't think you or Bazza have ruined the forum at all. By the end of 2014, trolling the pair of you will eclipse anything I have to say on conspiracy theories. Keep up your infantile bollócks, chaps. You make everyone else look good and provide me with a lot of ammunition. More own goals than a team full of Hooivelds.
  9. Exactly. Saints have been an excellent day out in recent years. I haven't been to nearly as many games as I'd like to, and contrary to Barry's implied assertion, I normally miss games due to real life considerations, not because I don't want to go. To me, actually going to a game has always been the zenith of being a football fan, particularly if you get to see any of the things you list above.
  10. Nah, it's not that at all. More like:- "I must get down to St. Marys to see the team I support." You wouldn't get it, being deluded and watching games on Sky Sports and all
  11. Our little meet-up is a completely separate issue which I've already addressed. Right now, we're talking about the team having nowt to play for. We've got a number of players aiming for international squads (not just the England lot, Fonte too). My latest Barry Sanchez conspiracy theory is that you started out Skate, became a Saint after all the shíte, and now can't escape the self-loathing that comes with being a turncoat, accounting for all the blather here.
  12. I can't be arsed trawling through the last five weeks of Football Weekly to find you a clip. Think Jacob Steinberg is the one who's been down to the ground most. Paul Doyle is also a frequent visitor down there. My track record at getting to the truth is excellent, Bazza. I've met you in the flesh, know you're not from Southampton and know that your opinion on matters Saints is unlike any other fan I've actually met. You sure you didn't look east when picking a football team? I do feel sorry for you lot stuck between Southampton and Pompey....
  13. 1) You said it changes little. From your POV, I'm sure that's true. 2) Football Weekly (this week) vs Football Weekly around five weeks ago. They were just as wrong as you, but more people listened to them.
  14. I'm only really interested in getting you to respond more. These posts have been very informative, and add great weight to the "Barry isn't worth listening to on football matters" argument. TV = the same as being there You big blend, you. Some additional statements I can refute with no effort will be most welcome.
  15. I don't agree. I acknowledge the same social side of things as yourself there, which is obviously part of the distinction. Your assertion that the team doesn't have anything to play for is a load of balls; many pundits tried the old "on their holidays" schtick a while ago, and have since had to recant. It's just not happening while the England places are still up for grabs. Now it's entirely possible that you don't see 8th in the Premier League as being "anything to play for". We just don't know. You only turned up here after the Saints had already made the Prem. For me though, the combination of atmosphere, tribalism and having my own camera angle will always put a match day experience well ahead of watching it remotely, miles from the game, where no-one else gives a f**k.
  16. Unless you can actually play football to a professional standard yourself, the difference between watching Saints on TV and going to a game is like the difference between watching porn and having sex.
  17. Hmm. Very much the sort of comment I'd expect. Still, if you want to equate sitting in your house watching BT Sport at 12:45 with screaming for your team at a ground, it's your right. It's only your reputation as "main board poster" that's at stake. Most of us are keenly aware of the difference. I do sympathise with someone in your position though. St. Marys does have a lot of Southampton supporters in it most days. I know you don't get on with them or believe in the same things they do, such as the team.
  18. You look forward to the games more when you actually go to them. Everton was ace. Very much looking forward to last day of season too.
  19. Do you have to pay a lot of money for it, like?
  20. Both the same person? Nah. My money is on them being "pals" off the forum, perhaps occasionally engaging in mutual masturbation over their posts. "Did ye see that, Bazza? I told them things wouldn't be as good as they think they'll be!" "No, sorry Glasgee. Was too busy trying to find your prostrate. There's no view from back here, you big mavis".
  21. The final scene isn't necessarily a departure, just might not have happened in the books yet. The capture is a departure though, I believe. I read the books and haven't really got a problem with the way they're adapting the source material, nor do I have much of an issue with a bit of deviation. I can hold both Walking Dead universes in my head; one of the best things about the Walking Dead TV show is not knowing how things are going to play out. Most stuff is the same; some themes drop in at different times or in a different order. I s'pose the only problem is when these things are left too open to interpretation. I really don't get what last week's controversial deviation got us, apart from a ham-fisted attempt at humanising Cersei. In general though, I love the adaptation. This week's episode looked gorgeous. I'm looking forward to seeing the return to the Eyrie.
  22. That's a decent article. Hodgson has seen a lot of Cork lately. More Saints for England?
  23. Perception is all important. We just about managed the exit velocity to finish last season not looking like relegation fodder. We're now top half, and can sell plans of aiming for Europe with a straight face. Not sure we could have done that from 14th.
