Better this half but still looking vulnerable while failing to take chances.

Interesting looking at the half time stats there. Saints worse in just about every respect except pointless possession. Are we still waiting and hoping for this to improve?

The number of pointless free kicks we give away are mental. Always gives a team of big players a chance to lump it up there and leaves our chaps under the threat of yet more yellow cards.

This is not a team that looks anywhere near to promotion material.

Good win but how on earth did it only finish 2-0? Could have tidied up the goal difference a bit if not for that abject finishing in the 2nd half.

Good news that Saints didn't concede before half time when Cardiff decided to attack the acres of space in the left back area. Earlier in the season that bit of sloppiness from Saints would have been punished.

It'd be typical if this gets called off by fog.

Why do we look so toothless when taking corners? I always worry that we look more in more danger of conceding than scoring from them.

Well apart from 15 minutes at the start of the 2nd half that was a hard watch. Three points though but it doesn't exactly get the juices running at the prospect of watching this lot scrape their way through games.

Kind of worrying that we're likely to be worse than that in the 2nd half. Brizzle just biding their time like every other team that's found out how to play RM's teams.

Wasn't the idea of the possession and endless passing designed to wear out the opposition and nick the game at the end? Certainly didn't work at Huddersfield where Saints looked much more likely to concede. I'm still to be won over by this turgid stuff and it looks like other teams have started to work us out.

Another game without a clean sheet. This time no added time goal to save the blushes. Second half was a joke.

And that folks is why promotion this season will not happen.
