I did wonder whether Theo might have been able to offer Saints something for one more season but not to be then. Couldn't fault his effort this season, something that was markedly different to others that I could mention.
The question I'm asking myself is whether Jones could have really done any worse than Selles. When I hear that JWP says he rather enjoyed the season I wonder whether the hard-nosed Welshman might have been shown the door because he was getting a bit fed up with the players' losing mentality.
At last the day has arrived. The day that we can finally lay this mess of a season in its grave. 💀
Then time to move on to the resurrection and the coming of our saviour? Let us pray. 😇
Enjoy the day, if you can.
There's a losing mentality at Saints currently. Unless that weak mentality gets turned around we'll just see more of the same. Selles couldn't do it because he was part of that loser thinking. Martin will have a job just getting Saints believing they can actually win games. He'll need our support in doing that.
Not exactly quality is it? So far you'd have to wonder how either of these sides are on the brink of the EPL. Luton looking much more likely to make life a bit uncomfortable for the EPL prima donnas though.
I find myself thinking back to the 4-0 win over Coventry in 2012 that saw Saints promoted to the top division with Coventry heading the other way. All that effort used in getting back into the EPL and now seemingly discarded without much of a fight.
How ironic that Coventry could now be replacing Saints in the EPL.
