Can't believe so many people have written him off at not even being capable as a back up, not sure who they're expecting to play there if Shaw gets injured. Probably one of the CB's out of position. People are quick to forget the part he played in our promotion last season.

Not sure about the Newcastle game. Tempted to say I'd rather see Villa get beat. Newcastle are't going to go down, they've brought in some good players and have others back from injury. Another Villa defeat would keep them points away from us and kill morale and another winnable game passes by. On the other hand, 2 points to our rivals rather than 3 would be alright.

Coutois is meant to be having an immense season. Surely he'll be in the Chelsea team by next season if not the one after. Butland surely would be 3rd choice ? He'd be better off going to Arsenal or Man Utd than Chelsea.

J-Rod and Lambert were almost playing as 2 wide strikers that day (I'm assuming we did this to combat their full backs) and Ramirez was in behind then pretty much playing as a CF. it was a shambles and our defence was a mess. Like mentioned....without Clyne/Shaw/Morgan/Cork/Punch, we struggled and rightly so. If we started any game at this level with Davis and JWP as CM's then we'd lose to anyone.
