  1. We were however pretty awful in that game, and Claus should have been sent off early on...what a day though...!
  2. Yeah - I'm suggesting it in jest, but who knows. we'd probably have to win 7 of the last 8 to go up autos, likely all 8. But they're all winnable, especially when Scienza is back. I firmly believe the league this season isn't very good, but unfortunately we were shit for 3 months.
  3. Do we ? We play Wrexham (a), Swansea (a), Preston (a), We have 5 home games... I'd be surprised if those two have easier games than us...autos is still on...
  4. Massive news if Scienza is back in training already. Wouldn't expect him to start tomorrow, and maybe not in the squad, but should be back in for the weekend on the bench as a minimum.
  5. Agreed, top bloke. And still wish him all the best. His next job is huge for his career,
  6. Indeed 75 points should see us comfortably in the playoffs...that's 18 points...6 wins... win all 9 and we'll go up in 2nd IMO. 😄 Home: Norwich, Oxford, Derby, Bristol City, Blackburn, Ipswich, Aways: Wrexham, Swansea, Preston
  7. Don't think so. as someone else would have stepped in, but clearly it was a problem. Biggest issue was starting the premier league with an arguably weaker team than that one that got promoted, due to losing Stu Armstrong and Che Adams, we had no focal point all season. He was massively let down by the board signing the likes of Cornet, BBD, Archer, etc. Thats not to say we woudln't have struggled if we had signed other players playing in that way...
  8. The manager hasn't had control of transfers for years at Saints. It's been a transfer committee which dates back to at least Pochettino... The manager is part of that committee along with about 4/5 others. Think it was quite obvious that Martin didn't want a bunch of those players signed, and they didn't fit how he wanted to play. It was a car crash of a summer, to the point that I'm not sure any of those players are playing in the prem now apart from Matty Fernandes who was class, but lets be honest, far from the finished article.
  9. Ultimately, we should beat every single team in this league at home. I expect us to win and if we turn up we will win. Whether that happens in reality is a different conversation...
  10. Wrexham likely to be the day after on the Tuesday eve supposedly, which probably puts the Arsenal game on Friday or Saturday?
  11. Pretty awful opposition Arma turned into a beast for a month dropping deep (teams stopped that happening) Azaz was involved in most things Fellows was causing all sorts of problems. We were massively taking our chances / exceeding our xG... After that, we stopped taking our chances, had to find a new way of attacking, and Arma turned to shit again. Back 4 - game on...
  12. Thing is when you're on a good run you think best case, and when you're on a shit run you think worst case...I think you need around 75 points to get into the playoffs generally.... We should beat: Charlton (H) QPR (H) Sheff Wed (A) WBA (A) Oxford (H) Blackburn (H) That's 18 points - taking us to 64 points That leaves Norwich (H) Coventry (A) Ipswich (H) Wrexham (A) Derby (H) Swansea (A) Bristol City (A) Preston (A) We should be capable of getting another 10-15 points from these games. The league really isnt very good this year IMO, and we are capable of beating anyone. The only team that's looked really decent against us really is Boro. Ultimately, if we don't manage to get 30 points from those fixtures, then we don't deserve to go up anyway. Now how many do we need for autos...
  13. Magic, what a huge result. What a cracking run of fixtures we now have to march up the table. Couldn’t wish for a better run really. My only concern is if the players have the balls to turn up in those games, but last night certainly showed they do…and we have 2 target men options which is better, don’t think we could have won that with Arma up front last night personally…
  14. Feels like we’ve turned up and expecting to just roll them over. Archer is shocking
  15. If there are 2 changes then likelihood is one is Downes out for either Charles or Bragg. I can't see why we'd change the back 4 unless Stephens cant play twice in 4 days. Outside of that, possibly Larin for Stewart or Matsuki in for a-n-other.
  16. WHilst I've thought we've left ourselves too much to do...it isn't impossible... Next 9 league games below: could easily be 20 points from those. It would be a big win for us tonight if we can get it. No reason why we can't beat Charlton, QPR, Sheff Weds, WBA, Oxford. Then Norwich and Ipswich at home are winnable.
  17. Special trip, so glad I managed to convince my dad to go as he wasn't planning on it because of cost. Superb ground and such a shame its being demolished.
  18. Crazy it's only 6 points. Pretty much got promoted because they overspent which brings in huge revenues. Should have been double figures.
  19. Might be - might also be a rich mans Che Adams, who knows ! He's a target man/focal point atleast. Got to give him a chance. Is it a huge gamble really? Armstrong has looked pretty awful this season and not even sure he gets in the first XI anyway as it stands. He can't play as a #9 on his own. The season is also petering out, so surely worth a gamble to try and get us into the playoffs? Doesn't look like that is going to happen regardless, but if it allows us to get more out of the 3 behind him, then surely that's a positive. Also, lets be honest, it's time to move Arma on, he's had 1 good season for us when he was playing RW in a really good attacking side. He hasn't shown that this season and looks completely out his depth in the premier league. Saying all of that, sounds like he's a top bloke and wish him all the best in his further career, but time to move on for everyone.
  20. Funny thing is, that an ideal partner for Arma would probably be him! Look, it is what it is. Sounds like hes a focal point which we've all been crying out form he's strong and relatively quick supposedly. He's behind Stewart in the pecking order, but that's fine for now, he needs to come on and influence the game for the last half hour or so. Intrigued to see him play on Saturday. COYS
  21. No more collecting ticket stubs !
  22. Wish him all the very best, huge confidence player, and a big part of the problem in recent years. We got some money for him, and we get to move on... Difficult to not be behind this one really.
  23. Playoffs is still there for someone to make a late charge IMO, as unlikely as it is. But I've said the same thing, or they're have had a striker through the door for the 1st game in Jan. Think they've settled for staying up, and go again next season. Big risk
  24. I think we'd be a good move for him, and likewise the other way around. Rumours of all parties wanting to terminate that loan deal. Seems a bit like Delap, in that it seems like it would be a good deal for all parties to come to saints, but probably wont happen then he'll be linked with top clubs in a few seasons time.
  25. They got relegated from the premier league...I didn't saw theyre top premier league players. and the squad was also appalling for that league. Doesnt meant they're bad players in the championship. And are you really counting the likes of Juric, Rusk, Still ?! Who are the other managers we've had ?
