  1. You change your mind like the weather. I thought Cons were dropped and UKIP were in.
  2. Based on that Analogy, we'll have ordinary Dave for a while, he'll make matters worse then Nick Clegg will save us at the last minute. I can't wait for this forum to be closed and get back to football. Roll on the summer transfer window and friendlies.
  3. I remember similar discussions a few years ago, it went along the lines of anyone but Lowe..... We all know how that ended up :-) You have been warned. lol.
  4. I'd have loved to have seen Major deal with the last 3 years, it's all about what's thrown at you.
  5. I don't have a problem with them aligning, but I do when it's about money rather than purely political lines. We've huge problems in the economy, they're potentially going to drop the requirement for 200m of cuts in NI, that's WRONG. You've been bleating on for days about the economic problems, 200m is 200m. Not a huge amount, but if the cut isn't made there it will be somewhere else, probably in England. Cameron said last year that the NI public sector was bloated.
  6. OK, I'll go with very odd!
  7. It's all a lie Thorpe, those damn left wing papers have made it all up :-D
  8. Not that strange, they've paid out on the conservatives getting the most seats, not winning the election. Even the most loyal Labour supporter would probably agree based on the polls that the Cons will get the most seats. Just said on BBC Con 283 seats, labour 255 based on latest poll.
  9. The outcome there is what I worry about, but hey, it's a brave new Tory party Fuengirola. They've changed, we should all believe them.
  10. The clue is in the title of the said paper. And to be fair to them, they are usually.
  11. Maybe we could gain, we'd get a team in the Olympic games for football :-D
  12. Teacher I believe.
  13. Even some of the most ardent Tory supporters on this forum don't rate Osbourne. I really hope he's got some great advisers in the wings.
  14. Can we also summise then, that all Conservative governments f-u-c-k over the poor, make the rich richer and generally destroy public services like the NHS?
  15. We've got a great record in 2010, but we've drawn too many games on the road that we should have won. Next season we need to turn draws into wins.
  16. Best result in 85 years, I don't doubt, Serious contender, I doubt. Not saying they shouldn't be, but the first past the post system will never see the LibDems as a serious contender. But that's a whole different discussion. Good piece in the Independent today. Anyway off topic, Dune you're quiet. Do you really think this is soley a political alliance? It's all to do with cash, the DUP are selling themselves. Look at the article again, they allegedly did the same with Labour regarding changes to the terror laws.
  17. Did you read the OP. From the Telegraph.... "This time around, the concession they intend to wring from a new Conservative administration is even more audacious – at the very least a commitment to cancel £200 million worth of cuts to Northern Ireland’s bloated public sector". Cameron has been quoted (last year I believe) saying the NI public sector is over funded and top heavy. Then suddenly it's ok! It just smacks of hypocrisy, and I'd say it about both parties if it were happening. I wouldn't say I'm a leftie, just left of centre :-D Naturally being human I think me me me, then I remember there's a wider society, with spongers undoubtably and good people who work hard for minimum wage or for valid reasons cannot work. It's those in italics that whose fate concerns me under a Tory government. Like I said on another post, I'd be happy to be proven wrong.
  18. So you're happy for money to be taken away from English pockets then Dune? Lets face it that's where the cuts would come from.
  19. The one thing I can agree with you on Johnny. ;-) For all me leftist tendancies, I do believe parts the public sector have had a relatively easy ride since the financial crisis began.
  20. And you believe that!
  21. I do believe that all parties will deliver cuts, I just have a feeling that the Tory cuts will be in areas that hurt wider part of the population such as schooling and the NHS. Proof of the pudding is in the eating, we'll have to wait and see!
  22. The ****ing hypocrisy of this deal with the DUP. They bemoan Labour and LibDems talking about a pact, and then buy 9 seats. Trust ordinary Dave can we? If those 200m of cuts are not coming from Northern Ireland, I bet they come from English finances. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/election-2010/7679038/General-Election-2010-How-Conservative-deal-with-DUP-might-work.html "This time around, the concession they intend to wring from a new Conservative administration is even more audacious – at the very least a commitment to cancel £200 million worth of cuts to Northern Ireland’s bloated public sector."
  23. We've been here already Johnny. We all know cuts are coming, but it's all about what party you trust to deliver those cuts. For me, it'll never be the Conservatives.
  24. For me personally, this is one od my biggest gripes with the conservatives. Everyone deserves a good start in life, and not deemed to be poor. For every person that shouts about Labour's failures, their policies regarding child poverty cannot be questioned. The gap between "richest" and "poorest" may have widened, but without the minimum wage, tax credits ETC god only knows what would happen to the poorer people in society. Don't forget the Tory party didn't want the national wage, it will cost jobs, blah blah blah. We have business on our side..... Did it make any difference? No. The only difference it made was for people to be better off. There's that word again, society. The Tories never really believed in society in these terms, it was each man/woman for themself. I'll cast my vote on Thursday and take what the nation throws at me, if it is a Tory government we'll soon see if they as a party have changed for the better.
  25. Yeh, there are also a couple near the roundabout at the airport as well, on a billboard. Wasn't sure if it was fly posting or a real "message" from a party. I can't find anything on the web about it so I'd suggest fly posting.
