  1. Phil, are you calling me a liar? I told my mate how impressed I was with Darren's be so calm and at ease, he was devoid of pressure, that's what won it I think. I didn't know about his recent loss and the other stuff until today. It does make you think doesn't it..
  2. Mornington, point taken. More emotive topic for someone of my background perhaps, I honestly do say a lot of provocative stuff very tic, taking those two facts into account I hope no one takes too much offence. I thru not to take offence when prop/e use the pikey word on derogatory terms as Mrs h is a pikey, same for the skate word as my brother is a skate. I believe that people take offence not necessarily give it, there's a la4get elwment of choice in these things. I only wish I was more articulate and educated sometimes but then I would not hold the same deeprooted views. Totally agree with peoples choices, of course I do, its a moot point. I could even take offence at you calling me a bully, you bully. ;-) xx
  3. Thoroughly enjoyed that, great game. Meant a lot to me as its the first time I've actually known what was going on and it was held on what is technically my home course. Usually.you get youngsters being inspirational in sports but reading Darren's Open stats make that quite special, not to mention his recent knocks in life. Love the bloke.
  4. It's.a stew yes but you are not doing any cooking per se.
  5. Funny you should say that as those binmen who came round today was from Fareham! And they call us SCUM! Time to clarify who has the real scab workforce perhaps? 1976, I is of course joshing you, any meal made from raw ingredients is to be appladed. Well done for at lleast having a go mate.
  6. 5o cook something in my opinion requires the skill to control the heat, not the skill to flick a switch. No wonder you don't seal your meat, it'd take about two days in your slow cooker.
  7. Stop cooking second rate stewards and it'll have a significant impact.
  8. Stew, no dumplings! It's not a stew then is it you fool. Slow cooker! Lol, so you can't actually say that YOU cooked it either mate. Bet you bought prepeeled spuds too?
  9. Made a.beaut of a drew last week. 500g STEWING STEAK (clue) cost less than four quid, couple of rough cut carrots, spuds, onion, butternut squash and home made dumplings in beg stock. You must seal that meat quickly, that is the key otherwise the flavours meld too much imo. 45 minutes simmering then dump the dumplings in and fifteen minutes later add some cornfliur mixed with cold water and the secret ingredient (worcestershire sauce) fo4 the final 5 mins. That's a stew and less than a tenner, maybe you pay too much for your wine 1976 child?
  10. Love those bunkers. Bit of trivia for you all: Royal St.George's was originally resigned by Field Marshall Montgommery to keep the Germans out, the bunkers are actually tank traps.

    Saturday

Going with my Bilbao shirt wearing step-mum in law and half German mate. May get tasty. Have they got guest cerveza and bier laid on anyone know?
  12. Strangely, the scab workers are outside my house right now. Told them to get off my property the renegade ****ers, back on benefits and agency work next week with a nice wedge courtesy of me and you. Tactics of a council who I shall never vote.for ever again. Might pop downn the art gallery and have a gander at that Lowry next week!
  13. The rain coming could throw Darren's relaxed composure, especially as he's waiting on the reed atm. Nice to see a sportsman smiling so much though. Keep it up fella. Range this morning knocked my own confidence no end. Still fancy my putting as my forte though since my bessie mate gave his old faithful, he'll Li(e to regret that one day.
  14. Anyone walked through Shirley yesterday? The bins in the precinct have been emptied, however, the amount of litter strewn about would make you think otherwise. Nearly all it proletarian could and should have taken home, no excuses. A #irty filthy minority, its embarrassing ...
  15. Met a woman in a pub last night, dressed in black leather; boots, skirt and bikers jacket. One of my favourite looks. Got chatting and after whole plumped up the courage to ask her back to my gaff for a night of passion . "i cant, I'm on my menstrual cycle" she said. "thats mo problem" I told her, "i can follow you on my Honda" Boom tish
  16. The 'polish' are no less 'skilled' than us Brits, we just won't tolrate the idea if letting work in their preferred trade, God forbid they might get some crazy idea that they are our equals. Best keep them in their place eh? Are they the latest equivalent to the west Indian's who were only fit to drive our post-war buses? Its not OUR country for crying out loud, its a simple case of accident of birth.
  17. Correct me if I am wrong but are a lot of these players actually playiing quite badly? They say you should play a shot in your mind first (visualisation) and I really do think I could.do better than some of them, the putting in particular.
  18. It's great imo, is even fancy my own chances. Phil, I won my first prize 2 weeks ago. When are you next over? I'll organise a forum mini pro-am thrash, stableford, 9 holes pairs and 9 holes singles.
  19. I'm actually a bit peer off tbh. As a newbie I want to watch som3 golf, 1 hour into the coverage and all I've had is talking and more talking. Show me the golf ffs.
  20. Thanks lb Ikeda to move up the board today, my tip. More trivia. Deal, the the parent town to Sandwich, has a motto. ' Welcome The Stranger'. Like RSG's, all are welcome but don't expect custard crewmen, actually don't even expect a biscuit, being our guest is your privilege not ours. Does that make sense?
  21. That wind! Fortune favours the brave Forget the actual leader today, forget the actual leader, forget sentiment, the winner will be the form leader on todays scores, mark my word. Who was that Korean who hit the green from under the fence pls?
  22. First chance for me to watch today and really looking forward to it. Now I understand the game I'm well up for it. I was actually born a stones throw from RSG's sand know the intricacies of the weather patterns only too well. Is guess tnhat whoever was getting in to their game yesterday is gonna really struggle to re adapt showing this weekend. I saw a Korean chap play a couple of cracking round saving shots from awkward lies, one from next to a fence post, can't recall his name. He's my tip to do well as he had those shots 'in his bag' others appear to be good consistently if they had straighforward shots. The course is v tricksy. Add the blustery channel wind and the rain and they are gonna face a masssive test with all but their tee shots imho. Revenue the greens will be a different animal now, and they are not easy at the best of times. On a side note, as kids we used to play hide and seek on that course, great fun. If I were a betting man is forget all the favourites and early leaders. Couldn't believe that Tory's coach is home in Ireland, he's up shut creek now without said paddle.
  23. Was at it for almost an hour last night when the wife asked why it was taking so long? I can't think of anyone, I told her. Not clever.

    Shoes

I know the owner's son who now runs the show. Lovely unassuming chap, voluptuous wife... They are extremely well put together using traditional methods ala cobblers of yesteryear. Maybe I shouldn't be telling you this as it was a few pints of Frog Island in The Boat, Stoke Bruerne and could be a secret, but 2 years ago they changed suppliers for the lateral vamp ('upper' to you peasants) to an inferior quality leather. Still very good stuff but that decision (cost based) lost them a few (a small perahaps insignificant number of) customers. It possibly kept them from going bust though tbf. All in all a very good shoe for the wanabee toff. Persoanlly I dont like wearing shoes with smooth soles, I like a bit of purchase. hth.
  25. My Dad played for Saints before I was born and despite the family moving away and me growing up in and supporting Gillingham as a kid, once we moved back to Eastliegh in 1980 and my big brother (The Skate one, not the Man U supporting one) took me on the back of his CB250 to watch a Saints match from the Milton, I knew that I had 'come home'. Still love The Gills of course, just like the girl I first kissed behind the garages in Sally Port Gardens; you gotta start somewhere but you don't buy the firdt pair of shoes you try on do you...
