  1. It’s hard to make a case for us staying up this year. I really can’t pick out three teams that are worse than us technically and have less fight.
  2. We look like a team of ghosts
  3. Aren’t we supposed to be at home?
  4. We are timid and indolent. Arsenal are casually strolling towards our goal and shooting at will.
  5. It so easy for them. We could get thrashed here
  6. We look worryingly open at the back
  7. Finally got out of our half
  8. He looks broken.
  9. Well done Salisu
  10. AMN not particularly aerobically fit?
  11. What was that Ely?
  12. This game seems interminable.
  13. Come on Saints.
  14. I suppose it’s consistent with the way they have in recent years interpreted where the ball has to be when taking corners…
  15. When Clinton Morrison is the best dressed on the Sky studio panel by a country mile…
  16. Fine to be a steppingstone club if the stone steppers stay long enough to confer tangible and lasting benefit and success on the club, but the cycle appears to be accelerating such that they aren't staying long enough. We are at risk of becoming a triage club, a short term holding area, a departure lounge for flights to Chelsea et al.
  17. Would seem unlikely that a loss to City will trigger the sacking. Unless it’s merely coincidental and the replacement set up has taken till now to be waiting in the wings.
  18. Got to get rid of Ralph by Qatar surely?
  19. Nick Pope should stick to UFO documentaries
  20. Absolutely buzzing for Qatar now.
  21. Italia 90 and Euro 96 were the last tournaments where the whole nation was rapt with excitement and everyone watched together down the pub. Ever since England and international football has been subject to a sorry, sad, inexorable decline in the national - indeed global - consciousness, not unlike the FA Cup final. The decline in the FA cup was about 20 years in advance, but same trajectory. None of this is helped of course by the fact that national teams like say Brazil or Argentina or Italy are no longer the pinnacle of world football teams. They would likely lose to the best teams of Man City, Liverpool, Juve, Madrid, or Bayern. Terrible host nation choices for World Cups over the last 20 odd years, often due to percieved political correctness and corruption have also helped kill it.
  22. Zero excitement about Qatar.
  23. Anyone would think Everton had won the cup the way Lampard etc. are celebrating.
