Rodriguez played instead of Lambert not JWP. He took Hammond's place in the team.
-
I think Paqueta is first choice free kick taker for them. Quite funny.
-
Doesn't exactly look thrilled about it does he?
-
I've just shown you that he's had less than 14 games worth of game time for us spread over 2 full seasons and you think that's more than enough? I look forward to your final and definitive judgement of our new summer signings 14 games into next season.
-
28 matches of which only 5 were starts - 667 minutes in total or less than seven and a half games worth of football. Similar story in the Prem, only 541 minutes - equivalent of 6 games of football. Lets round up and say he's played the equivalent of 14 games of football for us. This is why he needs loaning somewhere that he will start and stay on for the majority of the games, to see how he does with some consistency behind him.
-
I disagree that he hasn't shown progress, even though he's had a ridiculously small amount of game time to try and do anything in since his arrival. If we were signing a French youth international striker we'd be optimistic about how he would look in a couple of years time, i'm optimistic about him. We would get what, £10million at best for him if we sold him now? What benefit is that to us? We may as well send him on loan somewhere and see how he develops with 40+ games played.
-
Mara shouldn't be sold, he's only 20 and I firmly believe there is a player in there particularly if we go down again. But a loan out somewhere he'll start every game would be ideal. Lower championship or even league one, most important thing for him now is starting significant amounts of games.
-
Tempted to get one again for the first time since Pellegrino was in charge, corner safe standing looks tempting at £499 spread over 10 months.
-
I don't think he really did any better than Edozie would have if he'd kept starting.
-
Lavia in fairness got injured after 32 minutes and was out for the season. I think he would have been starting for them...although we obviously knew how fragile he was as we kept taking him off with 20+ minutes to go in every game.

Adam the Lama to return to Saints? Is this true?

Good way of looking at it. Lets get Tim Ream, Angelo Ogbonna or Willian in on player/coach deals. Pay them a players wage to play less than 10 games and coach our youngsters with no experience or qualifications. -
I'd also take Broja. We only need someone that's going to get 10 goals to keep us in the league really with the rest of the team chipping in with a couple.

The management of the club have changed. We haven't. -

But less than 14 games (935 minutes in total!) as that apparently was "too much football" last season. -
No, but the news out the club was that he'd told them he'd refuse to play if we didn't let him talk to Liverpool.

Saints are on fire, Polystar Plastics terrified... -
Yeah fair point. Hopefully the plan is to keep using Armstrong on the right wing. We played him on the left before in the Prem and he wasn't particularly effective.
-
Now he doesn't, but he was signed as a striker.

I agree. What's that got to do with him as a player today? -
I always thought it was a rule now that you had to have plain backs but apparently it's not? Why do so many clubs do it?

The first sign of a top 6 club being interested in him he was signing their shirts while he was still our captain, less than a year after signing a bumper new 5 year contract with us. -
West Ham I think will struggle. They've traded their manager for one who I'm not convinced is any better solely off the fact he managed Real Madrid for 5 minutes.

No, but he did rely on being agile and twisting and turning a lot which probably contributed to his long list of injury problems - and will only get worse as he approaches 40 years old. Seriously, if people were against the idea of Fonte coming back at 38/39 who was fit as a fiddle his entire career at centreback, who was a consummate professional, I can't believe there are people OK with taking a 36 year old Lallana who has always struggled with his stamina and fitness who's main piece of advice for youngsters would be take the move to a bigger club as soon as you can.
