Alpine, I agree with you that this forum should be a place for balanced debate. But there is nothing wrong with listing a set of results in which we haven't lost, won 6 and drawn one.

Surely if we are going to learn and improve we HAVE to focus on the negatives? I did balance my post out by saying what was promising.

But i'll say it again. It was a massive mistake putting Gobern at LB. He is a CM, and let his man go for their first goal; not to mention giving away a blatant penalty for their second. Mills was on the bench so why not just stick him there in the first place? Made no sense. On the upside, Antonio looked absolutely fantastic. We really have to try our hardest to sign him up. Connolly has 4 in 5 (?) now and is proving what a great signing he is. Onwards and upwards, but I hope Gobern is never played at LB again.

Oh behave, I am one of the most optimistic posters on here, I think Pardew has done a FANTASTIC job, but Gobern let his man go for their goal and is not a left back, so the blame is Pardews for putting him there when he had a left back on the bench. Oh look, Gobern gave away a penalty as well.
