25,000 would also put a dent in some of the "fans will boycott SMS" so we are doomed argument. Let's hope they see a great game, and I was supposed to be there but travel plans went t*ts up

Lowe and WH Ireland: Why the connection is pivitol for our club
dubai_phil replied to scooby's topic in The Saints
Of course. There's only Sooooo many Bullfrogs that one can drink in one week. Anyway - they did the shopping, Golf at the Creek in 48C & 80% humidity, curry at Ravi's and pool time. It's Wednesday today which is surprisingly the day between Ladies night & party night so we needed a recharge. meanwhile on another point, yes proper schools for proper pupils are closed for the summer. But summer camps for the U12's and of course special schools for special people often run all year long, certainly over here which takes much of it's ideas in this area from Scoob's home town Washington. I know it isn't the case in Blighty.... Oh I see you mean to allude that he's fibbing about something in his TSF profile? But good to have him back this thread is much more fun than discussions about pacing out how far it is to the dug out at Mansfield -

Killing time mate - got daughter here on her hols with her chappie. They leave Saturday morning, and discovered my Life on Mars & Ashes to Ashes DVD collection. That means I can't get to my telly to watch my downloads of Torchwood until they've done their 3 hours. (11 hours left to go!) and I prefer to drool over Keely Hawes without family members around (winky smiley thing) Anyway nearly time to kick them out hooray! -
So again, the unasked question. Lowe returned with a PLAN, which he put into effect from his first day. Did he dream it up himself or was it something that had been sown in his days with SCW? They spent a lot of time talking together before he came here, and as I have posted before, SCW's ORIGINAL brief was to work to help the Academy players make the final step up from U17 to first team level - a gap that exists at virtually every club. SCW may be long gone but how much of the original concept and ideas has Lowe kept in his mind until the day he returned? IMHO quite a lot

Scooby Congratulations. The new Saints Web has, I'm afraid, had a pretty dull launch. The team are almost playing proper football for the first time in memory, we won a cup match and have yougsters with some passion. It has been extremely difficult to actually find any interesting threads, mostly we have been in varying degrees of tacit agreement, with just the extremities not quite in line. To be frank, it's been BORING. The only moments had really come in the people not at the game thread, but even then they still produced a basic consensus. But now, thanks to the miracles of technology, you've been ripped off a couple of cents by transferring your dollars a day before the rate plummeted and used your wise investment to great effect and HOORAY, it's just like the old days! All we need now is Sundance, tommac and lls and we'll have Saints Web back in the land of pure comedy that it so truly belongs. Lowe has been in business for a long time. His new operation appears to be professional and has a customer base of wise investors. As such it is the LAST place that one would expect to find anybody stupid enough to put 50million into SLH before the recession shows signs of bottoming out or Lowe's turnaround plan succeeds. So no, investment won't come from professional investors, it will come from somebody with an ego or with a need to build international recognition for their brand or somebody with a long term view of US$1billion urban regeneration projects. Lowe may well know or even find one of them, but not from the ranks of professional investors So the logic and the post is just flawed mate -
See, you just gotta have faith. You let it run and it's close to becoming our first golden thread if only for the slaps and apologies to various posters Bet it doesn't work next time - you're BOUND to get egg on yer face!

Finally caught up ith this thread, made me smile, nice own goals there. So Mike is only allowed a limited amount of days in the UK a year. You conspiracy theorists really missed the obvious question though didn't you. Great sleight of hand and you missed it. So Mike used up a whole day of allowance on an important but not critical football match, losing a valuable day at work. Or did he fit in some important meetings during the day? And no I'm sure he did what any of us would have done - some work and some pleasure -as I think the current rash of speculation is driven by reasons other than a takeover being near. But I'm amazed our detectives haven't tracked down whether it was a Jersey-Exeter return or something....... more sinister Ironic winky eyed smiley thingy
-
No no no. It was in your mega detective mould... Childrens TV Series = tenuous link to Jackanory = Asturius Sports see even us foreigners can play at being Hercule Poirot :-))))
-
May your Bullfrogs overflow tonight. Failing that enjoy a couple of decent Real Ales for me:-) Have a good one WS!
-
And there you have it at last, proof positive on a takeover thread..... Jackanory, jackanory....... Meanwhile - my mates got a couple spare JayZeeBeeSeas (the fake Chinese versions) over in Sharjah you can have free for a day MB. You ok for the airfare? Should fit ok onto tht new Emirates A380, couple of Breweries should cover it

Like many I looked for the Derby results in the PL and smiled. Although did have a fantastic away day there one year with London Saints, but anything that embarrasses them raises a smile. So I particularly liked this article yesterday - Derby the eco-friendly team saving the planet - and the pretty harsh "dreamt up by a latte luvva" http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/mikenorrish/blog/2008/08/11/derby_turn_into_ecowarriors_to_leave_jewell_in_need_of_a_break

Bad news There's no shenanigans So you just joined the massed ranks of the confused in the community Welcome to where the rest of us live :-)

DMG buries it in the last second of the game WOOT a last second goal for US for a change! 3-1
-
3 mins stoppage time. Is it time for a weather report? We know it is raining in Manchester and DMG scored just after that anywhere else? I'd give a report but it's dark so other than fookin hot I have no idea
-
Now now, this is total football, not last season's total despair I hope!
-
I heard his boss MW was reading this thread and had a oops moment and sent JP a text.
-
5 or so mins of possession, playing the ball around eventually DMG found some space and wallop. Exeter were tiring but the possession figures now should be better 13 mins to go
-
:-) Read in the telegraph that the rest of the summer has been cancelled And yes getting twinges to go back and finish the Shiraz and another episode. Not looking good for Saturday, still haven't had my trip confirmed, bloody annoying, still as I don't have any waterproofs probably a good thing

I know, was more a dig at how well we used to pass to each other...... Meanwhile I got a mate who's like that in the pubs here - scores from any position
