  1. I think you're overplaying this, me old pedigree chum. Can you list any successful negotiations and achievements of his? I mean, any at all??? If he was as good as you suggest, Cameron would have got a deal that may have swung the referendum in favour of remain. Being such a novice when it comes to the art of negotiation, I can see why you're easily impressed. Easy mistake to make, so I'll let you off for that one LOL
  2. Well, as he can't get them a rise, he's got to do something to justify his 6 figure salary.. Might as well have a pop at the government and make things up about what his members are saying... Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  3. He's still lining up his ducks...
  4. He's just lining things up for a pay rise for his members, for increases in workloads and undue stress. He will probably dress it up as something to do with public safety... they usually do
  5. It does seem to be getting worse. Here in Chichester, you never saw a homeless person up to a few years ago. There is a hostel here, but there are regularly 8-10 sleeping rough in Chichester town centre. I never give money as this could be spent on things that make their situation worse (drugs, alcohol etc). If you want to help, offer a cup of coffee if they're cold or a sandwich/burger to eat if they are hungry. Or volunteer your time at a shelter.
  6. Can I play??? Have you seen a plan? It was an unexpected result. There was no plan but it is the UK governments job to formulate on and deliver. There was no plan for the EU and there still isn't one. Remind me, what does Brexit mean? Leaving the EU What’s your problem with parliament? I have no problem with the UK parliament, as it has generally worked for decades. Do you know what the odds of winning in a game of 27 to 1 are? Not sure of what you mean. Are we 'playing' 27 other countries in something?? What’s great about being out on your own? Many countries seem to do OK. In fact, the euro has severely damaged many countries. Greece, Spain, Portugal, Italy. As the euro proves, being part of a club is not always a good thing. Tell me precisely which EU regulations you want to get rid of? Don't need specifics, just the ability to have control over the ones we see fit. Have you seen that £350 million a week bonus yet? We haven't left yet and £350m was the gross contribution. Precisely what control have you got back? We haven't left yet. But when we do, our sovereign parliament can do what it thinks is best for UK citizens without outside interference. Only last week, the UK government was told that it cant hold data when it is in the interests of our safety and security. Are you expecting two million UK nationals living in the EU to return home soon? No. I think many living in the bankrupt euro zone countries will be more than welcome to stay in them How are you going to decide who you’re sending home? Are people being forcibly removed??? Do you know what someone who is forced to leave the country where they live is called? See above How are you going to make sure the NHS has the nurses it needs when we impose migration controls in 2019? There will still be immigration based on the needs of our economy. Control of immigration is very different to having no immigration. Anyway, the vast majority of immigrants working in the NHS, are not from the EU, so what's your point??? Which UK universities are you happy to see go bust because of a shortage of EU students? Universities pre-date the EU. I would expect and welcome more students from the rest of the world. Giving preference to EU students could be deemed as prejudice against Chinese, Asian and African students. Do you know who picks most of the UK’s fruit and veg? This is one area that needs looking at. A significant proportion of English youngsters are lazy and have a sense of entitlement that is not shared by their Polish equivalents. A controlled and sensible immigration policy should ensure that we have enough resource. Why are you so keen to deny our young people the chance to live, learn and work abroad? Many youngsters do live and work abroad, as the EU is not the only destination. With the growing influence of China, I would be looking to work out there if I was young. There aren't too many jobs for youngsters in the bankrupt Eurozone states like Spain, Greece, Italy etc. The EU was intended to prevent war ever happening again in Europe. How does leaving help that? What’s the plan? I think NATO has some bearing on this. What did we do between 1945 and 1975??? How is increased paperwork for every single import and export going to save British business money? Even imports that already come from outside the EU? I think you need to go back to the drawing board. How precisely will we be better off when we have to pay tariffs on most things we import? We will buy more British product. We import more than we export. How are we going to win from tariffs? By importing less, making more. How are the 30,000 new civil servants working on Brexit cutting red tape? I would suggest this is only temporary in the short to medium term Did you want to encourage Northern Ireland and Scotland to leave the UK? That is for them to decide. When the oil runs out, Scotland will need us far more than we need them. When the City is based in Frankfurt where will you find replacement tax revenues? This is another misconception. It's not as if the whole of London will need to move. Most companies would set up subsidiaries to continue trading. As it happens, the surplus in financial services is 40bn. I wonder how much tax is paid on that. Did you want the UK to be a tax haven with no chance if you benefitting? WTF? ?? What is it that the Australians are going to buy more of from the UK? The UK is the 2nd largest exporter of services in the world. This is our future... Where are you going on holiday next year? Expecting a warm welcome? If we get a hostile reception somewhere, we will **** off somewhere else where they would be more than glad to take our money.
  7. Because if you want to be a matyr, you want people to know that it was you? You wouldn't want someone else getting the 'credit' and the 72 Virgins... Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  8. I don't disagree with that at all. Just pointing out, that in recent times (5-10 years), Islamic terrorism is far more prevalent than any other form of terrorism. To deliberately deflect that, is being an apologist. Now back to your point. It is very relevant and provides the main reason for the rise in Islamic terrorism. Our illegal war in Iraq didn't help. The handling of Libya was nothing short of disgraceful. As it happens, parliament voted down air strikes in Syria, so maybe we've learnt our lesson. I for one, initially thought that the Arab spring was a good thing. Bringing freedom to the people of the middle east. What a cluster **** that tuned out to be. One solution would be to stop sucking up to the Saudis. Maybe our waning reliance on oil will lead to less interference. We will all be driving electric cars within 10 years.
  9. Maybe they were busy looking for the multiple ultra-left wing terrorist groups that have plagued Europe?
  10. I didn't realise Anders Brevik was in the UK... Hmm, slightly misleading.. a bit of perspective for you... There have been 35 terrorist attacks in the EU since July 2010. 30 were attributable to Islamist extremists. Of the remaining 5, one was a left wing group, one was the mafia and three were neo-fascists (one of which was Brevic). So in the last 5 years, 85% of terrorist attacks in the EU have been attributable to Islamist Fanatics!!! These are simple facts that cannot be disputed and show that there clearly is an issue in Europe. If we look at body counts, there have been 318 people murdered by the Islamists in Europe over the last 5 years (79% of fatalities). 81 were murdered by the rest (77 of these down to Brevik alone). So aside of Brevik, only 4 people have been killed in the whole of Europe in the last 5 years. With these clear numbers, no one can deny that there is a problem.
  11. They were probably busy, looking for white supremecist terrorists, because they pose a bigger threat...
  12. The removal of border checks has also added to the problem. As already pointed out, the perpetrators of the Paris attacks were "EU Citizens", however they freely moved between Belgium and France. Border controls/checks may have prevented this.
  13. Isn't that like most public services when they're not at capacity???
  14. At least 10 plots foiled, with 294 convictions for terrorist offences in the last two years... https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2016/oct/28/britain-foiled-terror-attacks-plots-police-counter-terrorism-security-services 294 convictions! Let that sink in for a minute. You only need a handful of them to slip through the net and you have a massacre on your hands.
  15. Errrrrr we are. Look at the number of foiled plots. Thankfully our security services are more advanced than most of Europe. Logistically it is more difficult to pull off an attack here (especially with military grade weapons) and our border is far more secure (by virtue of the fact we are an island), but don't think there is no risk to the UK, as that is just plain stupid...
  16. Indeed. Also consider that When you look at the number of tourists going to tunisia (post the islamic attacks) and see that they have plummeted, it doesnt correlate to the increase in tourists coming to the UK, despite the significant increase in white supremisist attacks, over the same period.
  17. Quick to forget the 30 British people murdered on the beach in Tunisia last year. Not on UK soil, but clearly in a place frequented by UK tourists and as good as a UK target. There are none so blind as those who will not see
  18. If you just look at islamic terror attacks in 2016, you can see that there is nothing in it and nothing to fear... it just proves that mental health issues are a global problem. 19. Errrrrrr that's what I said. Thanks for confirming that I had interpreted the article correctly, unlike some on here lol
  20. Read the rest of the article. The devil is in the detail. They're not quite packing up boxes yet... Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  21. So they're not just making contingency plans to set up a subsidiary depending on how things pan out??? I must have misread the article..
  22. A bit of perspective. Looking at the league table after 16 games last year, we are equal on points this year. Yes we have scored 7 goals less so far, but we have conceded 4 goals less as well. So goal difference 3 worse than last year, but we are 3 places higher. So although not ideal, if we can solve the goal drought, we'll be flying...
  23. Whoahhhhh hang on a minute. Let's take this referendum. A straight vote and the UK government are respecting the will of the people. Now let's wind the clock back to the Dutch and French referenda on the EU constitution. The people of both countries soundly rejected it. So the EU changes a couple of paragraphs, dropped the word "constitution", which negated the need for further referenda and the Lisbon Constitution (see how i swapped constitution for treaty... hey if the EU can do it, so can I) went through without a much as a whimper. Its totally scandalous how this was allowed to happen. Both the French and Dutch governments, in cahoots with the EU, showed blatant disregard for the will of the French and Dutch people, moving their own project forward. In fact, all of the components of the rejected EU constitution were attached to existing treaties and by dropping key words like "constitution", they went out of their way to avoid the need for any further referenda. Read this: http://www.independent.co.uk/voices/commentators/valeacutery-giscard-destaing-the-eu-treaty-is-the-same-as-the-constitution-398286.html So perhaps it's not that far off a dictatorship afterall.... you know... where leaders do what the **** they want... irrespective of the will of the people. So whilst the new voting mechanism, which has only been in place for the last couple of years and still only covers 80% of legislation, is 'technically' more democratic than it was, lets not delude ourselves by thinking that the EU is some great beacon for democracy. Its mere existence as we now know it, was only thanks to deliberately avoiding the will of the people and bringing it through the back door. I will refer to it henceforth as the Lisbon con-stitution. Simply because it was a giant con trick. Furthermore, you only have to look at the contempt shown by eurocrats, when the people dont agree with them. Remember the threats to the British people, who were to be "punished" for voting leave?? If I remember correctly, the only type of leaders that threaten to 'punish' their citizens are in fact dictators. So whilst you and your pedigree bum chum may be technically correct in how the EU votes on legislation, it is blindingly obvious that the architects of the EU, as we now know it, are not only against democracy but are in fact scared of democracy.
  24. As are we and have been since 1995. Argentina seemed to be up for looking at a free trade deal with the UK shortly after the referendum. If they block our WTO schedule, this isn't really going to help them in negotiating a free trade deal. As for Spain, I thought they were part of the EU and won't have a 'specific' say in the matter??? (Happy to be corrected on this, but not sure they can leverage anything) Back to the WTO, I was of the understanding that there is a core principle of non-discrimination. That means that WTO members must not treat any member less advantageously than any other. Unless things have changed in relation to this core principle, I would suggest that the Independent article is a load of guff
  25. So will Spain give up it's African colonies in Ceuta, Melilla and Canary Islands??? Will Argentina give up the stolen territory of Patagonia?? If so, I think we could talk. Anyway, I'm sure that Argentina would rather sell us their corned beef than have us buy it from Brazil, whilst Spain would like us to buy their plonk instead of the stuff from new world territories. At the end of the day, money talks, bull**** walks....
