  2. Apparently that's exactly what he was doing last week, hence his poor handling. He'll play a blinder next time, doesn't matter what job you do, when you know you can't possibly do as bad as the last time the pressure's off.
  3. In the spirit of the pantomime season - Oh no it doesn't
  4. No we don't. What guarantee did we have that more than 15126 (Or whatever The Dell capacity was) would turn up when we moved to SMS. ? It was pretty well full every game but I don't recall any substantial ST waiting list . It stands to reason the more readily available seats are then fewer people will not be put off trying to buy them. How many are already being put off trying to get Palace tickets because fans are saying only single seats are available and they want to be able to sit with friends/family. It's unlikely to sell out but I bet there's plenty that could go that won't, who might well have done if more seats were available.
  5. I said in your example - in that you stated selling out 5 times a seasons, so in your example the evidence IS there. To be fair I agree with you, it's crazy to talk about extending the stadium NOW. But if even half of the first ten games in the PL come anywhere near reaching capacity I would hope plans would be put in place to be ripping off a roof or two as soon as the final whistle goes in the last game of the season.
  6. You are making the assumption the club would need to borrow the money. Maybe they have it readily available. If so your example gives them a yield of 8.33%p.a.. A pretty sensible investment at todays rates.
  7. Are you Gary Glitter ?
  8. Me too, although considerably younger than Bill, I was a kid playing in an adults team at the time. Remember being in awe of the fact that I actually knew a Saints player and he would actually speak to me !
  9. How about electrified backboards at the back of the Northam so no-on can bang them ?
  10. Christ, things are THAT bad ?
  11. [video=youtube_share;A949JshqvbI] Looks like this would be more like the West Ham parent company in admin scenario than our own. BUT how many more chances can the authorities (football and corporate) be prepared to give them?
  12. Only the biggest car boot sale in the UK (according to their website) Every Sunday And that'll be the last one before Xmas so probably the busiest of the year Wonder if anyone has told them ?
  13. For those getting the bubble bus at Bursledon, does it say where? Just curious, seeing as the away fans Park and ride compound is the site of a huge car boot sale every Sunday
  14. We could have stuck it in goal on Saturday and we'd still have won 3-0
  15. How often do BBC try and and "balance out" their highlights yet the only occasion you see Brighton going forward in the entire clip is the throw in they take right at the start (which goes straight to our player).
  16. Watching online it sounds like the attempt where my feed froze with the ball about 4 yards from the goal line. Sod you lot and your split seconds it took me 3 or 4 minutes to tealise we hadn't scored
  17. I remember feeling exactly the same.
  18. Exactly the phrase I have used over and over again on this subject. It's not like China/Japan/Korea/insert any other Far East country have suffered from a downturn in trade with us/Germany/France/et al through not being an EU member is it. Also I've read in the past (but no idea if it's true or not), that any exports that leave UK heading for Rotterdam container port before being forwarded on to anywhere else in the world counts statistically as an export to the EU.
  19. Played indoor cricket against him once. Not as big as he looked on the pitch (but then I'm 6'2") Asked him " Surprised clubs insurance let's you play this . Do they know?" One word answer with a big grin "NO!"
  20. For one or two people maybe but I'd hazard a guess that the vast majority don't even realise they are making a mistake.
  21. I get frustrated by people who unnecessarily include the phrase "as a Saints fan" in the title of threads when the rules for this forum state that "We ask that supporters of other clubs do not post on this forum" And "would of" instead of "would have"

    Steeeeeeeeve!

I was listening on 5 live extra. Once the commentator worked out what the Steeeeve was he said how good it is when a player and fans have that kind of relationship. Couldn't hear other players names though, agree that doing it for all is childish.

    Attendance

Exactly. We only have the clubs word that it was 32152, just as we only have the clubs word that Arsenal was 32150. Any attendance ever quoted may be right may be wrong, the only "official" figure is the one the club "officially announces" (which would be what they announce in a written record, not what a stadium announcer may or may not have misquoted/been misinformed) So NO, it doesn't matter, just like every other game the attendance is what the club says it was. (unless of course anyone can prove different)

    Attendance

I think officially around 29500. Realistically if you add me and my mates who got in through an exit gate pulled off it's rollers (after queuing from 4pm and STILL being locked out), the constant stream getting in by climbing a lampost and clambering OVER the Milton Wall, the 2s and 3s squeezing into one turnstile to speed things up, times it by 4 for the 3 sides I couldn't see, was probably around 35000+, increasing by about 10% as soon as the exit gates opened near the end of the game Health & safety my arse, we all survived

    Attendance

Why are all the references to a SMS record? It's more than the record at The Dell as well so it's actually a CLUB home attendance record
