  2. Well why didn't you say that then Speculative to say the least but in the context of events it could just make sense. BTW if 3-2-1 ever comes back get yourself on there, you'll see through those "clues" no problem
  3. Being restricted to my 3 posts a day I have to choose my moments carefully, but as the OP of this thread feel compelled to ask ........ WTF are you on about Phil Over 100 posts, but most seemed to have missed my original point. I don't beleive the club is for sale for one minute, if it is I would assume that NC would remain in charge. My point was that only last week the Daily Fail took a hammering on here (again) for Saints de-stabilising type stories, then the Southampton Echo, even more so in comments on it's own web-site. Maybe the latter has realised that negative stories could be affecting it's circulation. Even L Mac seemed to be writing a reconciliatory article. But suddenly, the sports editor of a sister publication seems to be privy to such "secret" information. Could it be the **** stirrers are still stirring but now having to use a different mouthpiece?
  4. To be fair - a phrase you'll know well;) - his twitter biog does state "These views are my own and not those of my employers, Newsquest". Bit I did find it strange that only a week after the local Echo seems to have finally understood how much it is ****ing of many Saints fans (i.e. many of it's customers) with it's negative and/or unsettling stories, that the sports editor of their sister publication should suddenly be claiming to be privy to such information.
  5. From the twitter feed of the Bournemouth Echo Sports Editor Dark forces still in action ?
  6. No but I've got this great idea. All those fans on our database, I bet they all need insurance ....
  7. I've always worked on the basis that if it CAN go in either way then it doesn't matter which way. Go on give it a go. No liability accepted etc etc
  8. That would be the game that I turned up to watch and was being begged by both sides to referee. As i was a regular on both forums at the time, had i accepted i would have ensured a draw, but as i was with my young daughters and didn't want them to suffer the embarrassment of Dad having the **** kicked out of him by all 22 players I gracefully declined. The 9 was right though, they ****ed it
  9. 2 can play at that game - we'll just say we never really invaded, the news footage was all done in a studio just like the moon landings.
  10. Knew what I was looking for and still missed it first time round. Shame, great video without him (bet he's multiplied it's views about a thousandfold though)
  11. No Chaseys was further along Victoria Rd, did sell toys but more of a small gifts and nick-nacks shop. Keith Paul was a PROPER toy shop, with bikes, model railway lay outs, pretty much everything Toys rR Us has now but just on a smaller scale. Sadly disappeared not long after the big American shed arrived opposite the station - another great shop killed off by the "big boys"
  12. Brilliant:D Only yesterday my Mum was arguing with me about where that was (now in Bitterne Park Triangle of course). She said it was further up near the old bird aviary, I said exactly where it is in that picture. If only Icould get her to use a PC I could point out her error
  13. Not 100% but pretty sure this was demolished for the new road layout. A row of shops behind the Red Lion pub across the road from the new church and library, what would now be the tile shop(?) and point where Bitterne Rd East & Bursledon Rd split. I think the stone lion that now lies on a plinth in front of the pub was rescued from above a shop doorway along the same row of buildings.
  14. Wow, never knew that was there. Can just make it out on Google Maps. Used to walk that way every morning to do my paper round. Might try and take a peak over the garden fence next time I'm that way
  15. Was also known as The Wig & Pen for a while Side entrance below what is now the Southampton Park Hotel. "I've been to Mr C's" was a must have car sticker around the late 70s/early 80s
  16. Not heard about that, would be interested to hear more. Used to live in Sholing myself
  17. If anyone manages it it'll be Truro City FC
  18. Was discussing Gattis only the other day with Mrs W, she doesn't remember it despite being older than me. I recall mock tudor beams, red lamp shades and the seating area divided into lots of nooks and crannies. Am I thinking of the right place?
  19. Totally agree with the OP It's the first time for a long long time I've actually had the feeling that team management and business management (for want of a better phrase) are all pulling in the same direction.
  20. Didn't Lowe refuse to sign him for a million once because he was too similar to Beattie ?
  21. This is a ridiculous rule that definitely needs scrapping, especially as teams now have to name a 25 man squad in the PL Who is to say what is a weakened team ? How many changes? 3? 5? 7? 11? What if the "weakened" team won 3-0 ? Would the fine still have been imposed? Could it then be argued that the team selected in the match(es) before the match with all the changes was the a "weakened" team? Who defines which player is stronger/better than another player? If the powers that be consider themselves able to make the judgement then they may as well give every player a rating at the start of the season and decide the PL title in a Championship Manager style so the fans don't need to waste their time and money turning up to watch actual games every week. I really hope they appeal against this.
  22. Worth keeping an eye on - he's getting several "household" joining the waiting list to appear in his shed.
