  1. He’s probably the best player in the Championship at the moment - beyond that I can’t speculate. Hopefully he’s not visited Flynn Downes’ house for a chicken curry 😬
  2. He’s either a genius with scary eyes who will inspire the players to soar into the top six en route to the promised land of the Premier League or another SR catastrophe. Can’t see it being in between.
  3. Really not sure what to think about this appointment. On the one hand you can’t argue that the team are playing vastly better football under Eckert but he’s not the experienced Championship campaigner many were calling for. This is either going to be an inspired appointment or a crash and burn disaster. It won’t be anything in between. On balance I think it’s the former. We’ll know by Christmas what way it’s going.
  4. Russell Martin?? FFS! What is happening in our club when players, some of them shite ones, are apparently actively involved in selecting the manager??
  5. I am expecting a very painful day out next Saturday. Anything less will be a miracle. Without doubt Saints are in the biggest crisis the club has faced for decades. There is no easy way out of this shambles. Sacking the manager won’t immediately turn this shit storm around. The club needs wholesale reform from top to bottom - and new owners to begin that process.
  6. THB is a massive part of Saints reverting to Russball when we’re under a bit of pressure. He seems programmed to backwards and sideways passing and can’t break free of that. The very rare times he passed a ball forward on Saturday he either overhit it straight off the pitch or passed it directly to the opposition. Not sure what’s happened to him, even allowing for the disruption caused by his pre season injury.
  7. Probably the worst and most uninspiring Presser for months, not helped by some awful and poorly thought out questions from the Press. Pretty much sums up the current state of the club tbh.
  8. Bournemouth and Brighton seem capable of putting together decent Premier League teams. That in itself tells you all you need to know about our ownership. It’s obvious that our ownership is the core of our problem.
  9. Solid win coming up. Bed wetters cease wetting. Panic over.
  10. Indeed. Horrific throw back to Russball. Row Z clearance surely?? But NO. Let’s fuck it up the Saints way!!
  11. I like Still’s Press Cons. Beyond that I’m starting to wonder. We have talented players at this level who are currently putting in solid League 2 performances. Anyone else starting to wonder about Will Still?
  12. Totally agree. I was in The Chapel yesterday and the atmosphere in the three blocks nearest the away fans was great. Contrast that with the Northam “Wall Of Sound”. No idea who at the club thought that the stadium changes were a good idea. Another thing they overlooked is that Saints now play the first half of most sunny games straight into the sun, whereas the Chapel end of the ground gets less sun in both the first AND second halves. Why throw away the advantage we always had? Anyone notice that away teams winning the toss haven’t “changed us round” for over a year? Unlike the club they’re not stupid.
  13. Saints expect every man to do his duty. Nothing less than a win is acceptable.
  14. Baz makes mistake but he really isn’t as bad as many suggest. As recently as the first game of the season, he pulled off an amazing save minutes before we won the game. If he hadn’t Disney+ would have been 2-0 up and probably would have won the game. There’s always someone who’s “the whipping boy “. At the moment it’s him. At Saintwbu says, the managers and coaches clearly rate Baz more than many of the fans. I’m happy to rely on Will Still’s judgment on that.
  15. Up until yesterday I was excited about the prospect of thrashing the Skates in two weeks. Now I’m nervous. Hopefully with the new players already in, and anything else that happens between now and 7pm on Monday, we can go into the Derby with a lot more confidence. A bad result against the Skates at this stage will sap confidence out of the team and potentially fcuk the rest of the season. A solid win could and should do the reverse.
