If that's Alfie's theory, it seems flawed to me. It still doesn't explain why he's in the match day squad at all. Surely he's just taking up a place on the bench that could be given to one of our rising u21 players for match day experience? That Sanda lad, for example?

Has anyone worked out yet why Juric always picks Bella-Kotchap in his match day squad when he quite clearly has zero intention of putting him on the pitch? Genuinely baffled.

It's almost as if some managers can get more out of certain players than other managers...

Of course the squad was "pants"... But what you don't do with a "pants" squad is attempt to play a style of football that's more suited to players that are the opposite of "pants".... What you do do is try someone different, with the hope that he can squeeze more out the "pants" squad than the dogmatic previous guy.... It might achieve something , it might not.... but you won't know unless you try.... Call me old fashioned....

The annoying/sad thing is that, due to SR's hesitancy and ineptitude, we'll never know what might've happened had they acted decisively

Indeed. The intellectually challenged 'pat ourselves on the back' brigade don't seem to get that just because the replacement may turn out to as bad as the guy he replaced, it doesn't justify keeping the previous bad guy in the first place. Russell Martin was a "dog shit" manager in the PL and therefore had to go. If Juric turns out to be equally "dog shit" then he too will have to go. All quite simple really.
