  1. @BBCRadioSolent: NEWS - A council decision on whether to ban lap-dancing clubs and sex establishments in #Portsmouth is expected today.
  2. Doesn't it boil down to what penalty PKF would suffer (if any) if they conclude that Portpin do meet the FL's Owner and Director criteria only for the FL to subsequently come to a different conclusion when they 'formally' review the administrator's recommendation? In other words, what could / would the FL do if PKF say to themselves: "right...sod this for a game of soldiers, lets just go with Portpin and 'so what' if they end up failing the FL test - it's no skin off our nose as there's no penalty to pay if we get it wrong - it's only our interpretation vs the FL's afterall" Or is there a consequence or forfeit that the FL can enforce if PKF recommend a new owner who ends up being over-ruled by the FL? #confused
  3. So...no news from today's Football League meeting then...?

  8. I'm ready when you are with the hilarious Groundhog Day photo Turkish. You post your amusing missive first and then I'll be straight in there with my witty visual retort.
  9. Pompey's definition of 'competitive' is to be better than everyone else not equal to everyone else.
  10. Facepalms at the ready folks.... http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/appy-believes-youngsters-are-wilting-under-pompey-expectations-1-4353121
  11. I've just read that Newcastle manager Alan Pardew wants his players to forget all the talk about Wonga being their sponsor and get on the pitch and give 4217%

  13. Pompey in 'off-loading another youngster* to make way for another higher league journeyman' alert.... http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/appy-wallace-loan-move-will-work-wonders-1-4353403 "Pompey’s squad-size restrictions have conspired to ensure he has been unable to be considered for first-team duty since." I really am lost for words.... *(Note: this 'youngster' is older than James Ward-Prowse)
  14. I must say that I like the cut of Mr Jacob's jib.... http://www.football.co.uk/portsmouth/redundancy_baffles_jacob_306005.shtml "The club is in this financial crisis owing to years of excess. It isn't something that's happened overnight." - Mark Jacob, Former Pompey Director, March 2010 So....'cheating' in other words.... If someone from inside the higher echelons of the club can decree two and a half years ago that the club was living beyond its means (and had been "for years" before that) then why oh why does your average Pompey fan still cling onto the claim that they weren't cheating when they won the FA Cup et al? It's there in black and white FFS.
  15. In recent times I had been leaning towards Trust ownership as the most nutjobbery fulfilling path for the club to take, but I'm now more convinced that Portpin ownership holds the most comedy cards. Decisions, decisions...
  16. I agree. I was just wondering if you ( or I) would have a twinge of discomfort if they were to sponsor our shirts? It wouldn't 'feel' right to me but that's the mild irrationality that comes with being a human being - one quite often makes judgements on gut feel rather than pure logic...
  17. I tend to agree with the train of your thought. I guess the acid test would be whether or not you'd be happy to see them sponsor Saints' kit, or whether you'd feel it "wasn't quite right"?
  18. And there was me thinking that non-Tory's treated all Max Hastings articles as garbage. #onlywhenitsuits I agree with his description of Labour though...
  19. Haven't read this yet but my hanky is duly poised... @pn_neil_allen: Touching, heart-felt message from a #Pompey fan to the Football League in today's Daily Express. Emotional stuff. http://t.co/tYPCpQlL Edit: probably as close as we'll get to an admission of the club cheating (partly)...
  20. This would be a delightful twist - Twitter is currently awash with Pompey fans singing Hall's praises for his investigations but I doubt that it's dawned on many of them that it's these very revelations that could give what the Football League need to throw the book at the club once and for all...
  21. There was a very easy way of getting your club back when these ownership revelations started to surface 3 years ago...start a new club (taking the spiritual part of it with you) in the lower leagues, leaving Chainrai with the empty shell. You could have been knocking back on the door of the football league again within 5 years or so. It's all very noble what the Trust are trying to do, it's just that they're 3 years late.
  22. @pn_neil_allen: Another stunning piece from @blueballoo2000 now out. Please open your mind and read it. #Pompey http://t.co/eGXkIfbB It's called investigative journalism Mr Allen...
  23. I've re-worded his statement slightly.. Dear taxpayers, charities and local businesses who have lost 98% of c.£150m over the last 3 years, Up yours you mugs! Love Gabor and everyone at Pompey
