Missed Appy's latest musings yesterday. Here they are for the PTS record and for the usual general amusement factor...in summary, it's Appy's usual moans and groans about not being able to improve his squad - you know, the squad that is already more "competitive" than a lot of other League One clubs....Business As Usual in Appy Land then... http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/appleton-embarrassed-by-pompey-s-ownership-delay-1-4343196

Yes, there are a few. But they're not very good at concealing it...

Here's hoping there are still a few empty seats. Would be embarrassing if it's full and the Spurs fans start singing the "You're only here to see us" song.

Hmmm... @officialsaints: It's a bad start for Martin Hunter's men as Joshua King tees up Jesse Lingard, whose shot deflects past Artur Boruc for 1-0. #saintsfcu21

Without doubt the funniest line I have read on this forum. Ever.

Is that a 'best case' 6 weeks or 'worst case'? Cheers

This puzzled me too when I saw the teamsheet yesterday. I at least expected to see our best keeper (on paper) on the bench. How long does it take for a goalkeeper (that had been training with another prem side and has played in a reserve/ U21 game) to get fit?

Cheers for the heads up. Any chance of Tadinari Lee getting a run out I wonder?

He does come across as well on screen as he does in print - a decent chap by the sounds of it. Also good to see him admitting back then that if they didn't agree a CVA they would / should get -15 points deducted when relegated to the Championship. Given they've only got a pending -10 for doing the equivalent (i.e. not honouring said CVA) then I'm sure he'll agree they got off lightly (for the 2009/2010 administration). All we need now is an admission that their owners cheated their way to two FA Cup finals and our work here is done

Southend Utd.....Another team that are missing the Pompey trick..... http://www.echo-news.co.uk/sport/blues/9972404.Draw_with_Barnet_highlights_Southend_United_s_player_shortage/?ref=rss Surely they just need to field a few ex-Premier League players for next to nothing on monthly contracts....? Problem solved...

Agree. The Tories: often great ideas, often poorly executed. Maybe we should privatise the implementation wing of political parties and the civil service to make the delivery part of it more efficient and effective....

It would have been more embarrassing if we'd sold out..... if we'd sold out a Sunday lunchtime fixture vs Fulham we'd be showing the nation that the good people of the South of England have nothing better to do on a Sunday lunchtime than watch a game of football. By keeping a few thousand seats unoccupied we were able to demonstrate that we have a much less narrow minded demography.

Does Lallana need dropping to give him a kick up the backside?

Trousers thinks about posting a highly amusing movie scene photo but restrains himself in the interests of not splitting fellow forum members' sides.
