I was actually insinuating that Labour are more likely to get in by promising extra spending (whilst not quite singing the tax rises from the rooftops)

At least we should get a much clearer choice as the next election. All 3 parties were advocating a fairly similar cuts programme last election whereas next time Labour should be promising more spending and higher taxes as an alternative to the Tories spending cuts and tax freezes.

Does anyone else have a strong hunch that the Scottish Premier League ruling re: Rangers last week gave the Football League Board less 'fear' to come down on Pompey like a tonne of bricks? It gives them the perfect ready made riposte if they are accused of being too heavy handed.

Quite. Either the Football League and/or The FA want to have a rule that protects Football Creditors or it doesn't. To leave the rule open to abuse (via player intimidation) makes a mockery of having the rule in the first place.

True, but the Football League ruling makes provision for agreeing compromise deals with the players. Ok, so the players might not agree to compromise deals but they will be under severe pressure to do so.

True, but don't forget the only reason Chainrai wants to regain control of the club (allegedly) is to recoup as much as he can via the Parachute Payments. He can still do that (to a certain degree) IF the players agree to the "compromise arrangements" that the Football League ruling today makes provision for. His CVA 'offer' was always conditional on this happening anyway. Chainrai won't care one jot about the -10 point penalty as long as the players can be off loaded cheaply. So, this ruling today doesn't, as far as I can tell, affect Chainrai's position one jot.

Ah...there you go....so not "in full" as your average normal person would understand it to be, but "in full" in the la la la emotional blackmail land of PFC.....
