@pn_clare_semke: The day a judge sided with the fans - Pompey - The News: http://t.co/zvPL15u5 And there was me thinking the judge was siding with HMRC not the fans. Anyone see my point now...?!
-
Maybe. But I think we underestimate the "plucky old Pompey" tag that they've built up and the strings that politicians (led by Money Penny and Portsmouth Council) can pull. My working assumption is, and always has been, that they'll "get away with it". I'd be delighted to be proved wrong of course!

So, whose job is it to prosecute the PFC management/director(s) for trading whilst insolvent? I assume this is why Akers left when he did...?
-
Ah, should have read your post first!

Isn't there a conflict of interest with that scenario as far as the administrator is concerned? In other words, if the administrator unearths said "irregularities" he has two options: (a) declare them and make the club less attractive to a buyer or (b) keeps them under his hat to preserve the saleability of the club. Yes, I know (b) is somewhat dubious practice but why would an administrator reveal bad stuff that he's not legally obliged to do so if it jeopardised the number of potential buyers coming forward. As I say, conflict of interest?

I've got a feeling HMRC won't be as bullish now they've got "their man" in place as administrator. I think their main beef with Pompey was with the dubious people running the joint - it was not just about the debt per se. Now they've got AA out of the way (to a certain degree) and they start to see PFC being run in a mote professional manner I believe HMRC will be more inclined to give Pompey some space and time. We'll see. All good fun nonetheless

^This I'm pretty sure the FL don't have a rule about clubs reneging on their duty to service an agreed CVA. Once there's an agreed CVA in place (before the start of the next season) then that's where the rules seem to end, somewhat bizarrely. But, as you say, the FL tend to make things up as they go along so I would expect them to invent such a law if PFC fail to start servicing their existing CVA. That said, I'm not brave or foolish enough to start holding one's breath quite yet.

@TonyHusbandBBC: #pompey Birch told me he was impressed with the spirit on show when he met staff yesterday afternoon. Plans a fans forum in next week or so.
-
Surprised that Pompey haven't released any of their rising starlets for this one
-
Don't worry my little cherub. I'll give them a severe talking to and a spanking if necessary for being so cruel and heartless. These arrogant SWF hoodlums need to understand and appreciate that they've already extracted a huge amount of pleasure out of the plight of your once proud football club. I say: Enough is enough! Rest assured I shall have words, especially as there is probably at least another 6 months of hateful humiliation coming Pompey's way. Have some compassion for this poor lost fellow my fellow SWFers.... FFS!

Their guesswork or someone there with insider info?

If 'plausible option' = 'conspiracy theory' then yes, guilty as charged m'lud ;-)

Apparently a text conversation between a Pompey fan and AA this afternoon: Carl Paddon@CarlSpangled Here we go - you will have to bare with me as I will put it word for word.. I txt Andronikou first by keeping simple The first txt was hahahahahahaha the 2nd one was you're now a laughing stock.... He replied, oh really, you should be laughing. Hmrc have their man and we'll see what happens to the club. Fool! my reply - your track record against Mr Birch isn't really worth comparing, is it? I continued to say, regardless of what happens to Portsmouth Football Club, you're not going to be part of it. That is a very proud moment. His reply - you're an even bigger fool than you sound then. My reply - like you said, let's wait and see. His reply - I hope I'm very wrong. My reply - you were wrong about overcoming the challenges today, wrong about Cala, wrong about what you've said about Chainrai, let's face it you've been about a hell of a lot I haven't even talked about Swindon yet??? His reply - wrong about Cala?? Who showed him the door?? If it wasn't Chainrai you would if disappeared and as for Swindon, they survived 2 admins with me so get your facts right before you talk rubbish... My reply- its all about reputations in your game and you haven't got a very good one. FACT! What did Mr Birch say about working with you - No thanks and as for Chainrai. Hahahahahaha His reply was - Birch didn't want to work with me because he knows I want to save the club and hmrc want to make a point you fool. Any simpleton could work that out. Good luck and good bye........ My reply - you're not interested in protecting the club, just your friend's pocket. Have a great weekend, mine will be massive. As will many others.... He replied, good to hear and your wrong... I replied, its there for all to see Andrew... He replied, believe me, you're very wrong...... My last txt to him which he hasn't replied to was How can I believe you when every time you open your mouth, something different comes out Very much like Chainrai and his statements of intent or more like lack of.. As I said people he is yet to reply to this one.....
-
I might put in a bid myself at that price.... ;-)
-
Same combined price I paid for me and my boy for West Ham. Not great seats either. Cheaper to see James Blunt.
-
No, no no, please Mr Chainrai....please don't stick that red hot poker up my.......aaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrssssssssssse!!!!
-
IIRC, the Football League rule book has a "These are the rules but we can make up other rules as we go along" clause in it. So, anything is possible....in theory....
-
Or....they were under instructions to say that they didn't want to leave....perhaps....?
-
H He doesn't own the ground. He loaned money to Pompey (supposedly) and used the ground as security. So, he has the same rights to Nottarf Krap as HSBC do to my house. The main difference being that I'm up to date with my repayments and not insolvent...
-
@TonyHusbandBBC: #pompey Trevor Birch, Bob Beech and MP Penny Mordaunt all coming up at 6.30 on South Today. Live from Fratton Park.
-
You mean they'll have left some evidence behind....? ;-)
-
Durham's counter-argument to this was if the players love Pompey as much as they profess they do then they should have shown that "love" by actions rather than hollow words and lowered their wage expectations thus making them more saleable thus helping the club they love so much avoid going into administration. A somewhat idealistic argument but there is some logic there

@ollybirchpfc: RT @CarlSpangled: I've been in a txt conversation with Andronikou - will make his replies public later on today. Just waiting for him to stop ranting!
