Yep. With Guly in "the hole" behind them...

Assuming said text isn't someone pretending to have Charlie Austin's number programmed into their phone. Not saying that it isn't genuine but a screen shot of a text from a "Charlie Austen" wouldn't prove anything, per se. Cheers for the info though - as I say, not disbelieving it, just an observation from yours truely at 'Conspiracies R Us' HQ ;-)

The Swindon message board or the chaps who run the football club? :-)

During this January window or in the summer? He'll only get regular football in a relegation threatened Prem side so any short term move to the Prem will result in us leap frogging him season after next anyway.,,,

In today's paper. Apologies if old news and/or re-cycled rumour.

Fair point. Although I feel there are two types of fans when it comes to judging the merits of new players during the "failing to impress" (aka settling in) period. There are those who hastily translate "failing to impress" into "he's crap" versus those who wait to judge until the embedding process has reached the end of a more realistic timeframe. I believe the word is pragmatism. HTH :-)

It was close but he wasn't offside. I was level with play at that point and he timed his run to perfection. One of the few referee/lineman decisions that my Daggers friends agreed with...!
-
As pitches at small grounds go, I thought today's was in relatively good nick. A bit bobbly in places but nothing too drastic.

Derry - nail on head. I was at the game and as soon as the Daggers midfielders/defenders didn't have to worry about handling the attacking threat of Guly and Chamberlain they went into attack mode and very nearly pulled off a 2-2 draw as a result. I'd wager that if we'd left Guly and Chamberlain on we wouldn't have conceded a goal or come close to throwing away the deservered 2 goal lead. Ok, there's a fine line between burning hi-tempo players out versus handing the attacking momentum to the opposition in the closing stages but we have a cup game on Saturday where we could have rested our impact players. Nigel 'got away with it' this time (just). But, that said, I understand why managers do it and more often than not it doesn't come back to bite them. At least I don't have to trim my finger nails this evening!

Indeed. I was with a couple of Daggers supporting friends and after Guly's run and goal they just looked at each other and after a few seconds stunned silence just said to eachother: "superb - different class. He's far too good for this division". I then failed miserably to convince them that he'd failed to impress some Saints fans up until recently.

Was with a Daggers fan today and I asked the same question. The answer was that it is the only side of the ground where it is easy to segregate away fans. He also said (perhaps tongue-in-cheekly) that there is a new bar area in there which they can make some money out of the away fans from

P.s. The stewards behind Kelvin's goal were saying the Daggers free kick was a foot over the line...
-
Just back. Played Daggers off the park for first 80 mins. That said, I think we could have pushed harder for the 2nd than we did. Daggers unlucky not to nick a draw at the end and had what seemed to be a nailed on penalty not given by the ref. Man of the match performance by Guly, with Lallana a close second. Guly was all over the pitch, leading the line as well as tracking back to defend. Superb. A plucky comeback by the Daggers but a deserved win for Saints. The difference in class was clear to see.

Just checked forecast. Over 12 hours of sub-zero temperatures on Sunday night / Monday morning. Not expected to get above freezing until late morning of the game. Chances of another late postponement...?

A game that a 'typical' Saints side will go and lose....question is...is this a typical Saints side...?
