No-one is saying that Wotte (or Svennson in your analogy) shouldn't be congratulated for what he's doing now. But that doesn't exclude him from criticism regarding his influence (or otherwise) in the past. I would have reacted the same way whether it was Wotte, Svennson or whoever. Again, why do people have this illogical stance that current tense praise and past tense criticism are somehow mutually exclusive? :smt017

Just one question still buzzing around my head at this late hour.... Can someone explain how Poorvliet and Wotte being described by Michael Wilde as a 'Seamless Managment Team' somehow translates into Wotte having no influence on our 1st team performances for the first 2/3rds of the season? I agree that Wotte will deserve plaudits if he keeps us up, due to his tactical u-turning and good fortune to have more 'expensive' players at his disposal but, being the balanced chap that I am, these plaudits will be offset by criticism for the part he played in putting us in the very hole he's trying to get us out of in the first place. What is so wrong with seeing both sides of the coin?

Correct. I'm not in charge of my department at work either, but I have a significant amount of influence in what happens on the 'shop floor'..... Did Gordon Brown not help shape Government policy when Tony Blair was 'in charge'....? Why do people continue to believe that a person in an important senior role within an organisation would not have any significance influence on said organisation? I could always dredge out the quotes, interviews and videos from 9 months ago for the umpteenth time....

Depends which quotes one carefully selects.... Quoting Wotte from earlier in the season makes for much more interesting reading but may, of course, not satisfy certain arguments.... Edit: Ahh, just seen a similar post from Um Pahars.....great minds thinking alike yet again....

I may be missing something here, but IF the club are on the verge of going into administration why would they announce it on the Friday before a home game? (other than to satisfy SaintsWeb Law regarding Fridays) If they suspect that this will cause "trouble" before, during or after the game on Saturday then why not just defer the announcement for 24/48/72 hours? As I understood it, the announcement 'deadline' is next week, not this week Am I missing something? (like having a clue about what is going on, for example)
