  1. Have you seen what Arthur Smith said to them if you play the tape forwards?
  2. Do you mean Mat-Ski? 😂
  3. What it shows is quite a few of our back up players. Not our first choice team.
  4. A deathly silence of media rumours didn't stop Mads Roerslev from joining
  5. Which is why I said 'so far'. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2025/aug/26/west-ham-soungoutou-magassa-advanced-talks-to-buy-monaco-midfielder-20m-deal
  6. Keeping Fernandes (so far) is a huge positive.
  7. He is only 18 years old, and a season in the French 2nd tier aids his development. It'll do him more good than playing for our under-21 team.
  8. We finished higher after Cortese, Pochettino, Lambert, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Lovren, Lallana and Clyne left and we needed a rebuild with Pelle, Tadic, Mane etc.
  9. Signing a midfielder who scored/assisted 20 goals in the last two seasons in the league you are in is not a 'desperate signing'. It would be a stand out signing at this level! We probably couldn't get him earlier in the summer because like most players, they want to access their options and get the best possible move. So needed to wait until he didn't get a PL move.
  10. Nope You said... "Look at our squad under Koeman, Forster, Fonte, Bertrand, Clyne, Schneiderlin, Cork, Steve Davis, Shane long. All been there and done it in British football. Some not the best players, but hard working and experience gave them a 7/10 most games. A ‘British’ core who know the league" The players you listed in the Premier League squad under Koeman largely gained that experience with us, not before joining us.
  11. Most weren't experienced in the Premier League at the point we signed them. Experience in the Scottish leagues and Championship isn't close to PL level experience. Most got that with us, not before.
  12. Not at the point we signed most of them they weren't.
  13. Verona want Bella-Kotchap On loan... https://www.alfredopedulla.com/bella-kotchap-hellas-verona-blitz/
  14. Not completely wrong, I said 'or' instead of 'and' by mistake.
  15. If he broke his leg tomorrow... we'd sign a new keeper. If he broke his leg after the window shut... and then McCarthy or Long were injured, we'd be allowed to sign another keeper under emergency keeper rules. McCarthy was the keeper who saw in promotion in 2024.
  16. 3rd choice keepers go home and away to 1st team games, he'd also be training with the first team rather than the u21s. It would mean he misses training and u21 games. That isn't beneficial to a 17 year old keeper's development. Will Still has said as much himself.
  17. We only had two senior keepers; you need three. Dylan Moody is 17 years old, it does not really benefit him to spend an entire season on 1st team duty and missing out on some under-21 games where he can develop as a player. The occasional time with the first team would be good so he sees the environment, but he needs to play u21 games.
  18. They didn't have Trafford last season when Carson was at the club. So do you think 39-year-old Scott Carson at Man City was good enough to play at the level of his teammates? Because you claimed "Surley every player we sign 'should' be good enough to play for us, no matter how rare it may be".
  19. Quarshie came from the same team our new chief scout Tim Lederer worked for last season! Downs came from the same league our new chief scout Tim Lederer worked in last season. I don't think they are due to Ankersen input. Roerslev perhaps.
  20. Do you think 39-year-old Scott Carson at Man City was good enough to play at the level of his teammates? It isn't only Saints with 3rd choice keepers who are the weakest link in the 1st team squad. Pretty much every team does it. 3rd choice keeper is not a role where you are likely to play, so decent players will look elsewhere. Dylan Moody is 17 years old, it does not really benefit him to spend an entire season on 1st team duty and missing out on some under-21 games where he can develop as a player. The occasional time with the first team would be good so he sees the environment, but he needs to play.
  21. If George Long plays in a league game, I'd be concerned... because he isn't good at this level. He hopefully won't get near the pitch, as it is rare for 3rd choice keepers to do so.
  22. Making money that can then be reinvested and signing promising players are benefits. So you agree I did now answer the question? Didn't look too hard before complaining about it!
  23. 3 goals in 46 league games last season isn't much of a goal threat Nor is 17 league goals in all his 207 Championship games
  24. I answered it at the bottom of page 217 of this thread!
