yep. funny how its not fine to have in the return game, after it was ok for St. Mary's AND Sunderland just wonder why we make a kit that clashes anyway. reminiscent (well not AS bad) of the white kit we never wore 2 seasons back. I noticed west ham wore a random new kit for the FA cup last week. wondered if they had made the same mistake as us.
-
Correct. I live in Istanbul and went to both. Would love Saints to make Europe and play one of the Turkish teams... preferably Besiktas in the CL. I agree if you had to take one then prob the FA Cup as you get silverware AND Euro football. But I would like us to go for both! Still disappointed we missed a great chance at wembly with that shocker at Bramel Lane.

Every time I see pics of Graz in his Feyenoord kit I think how good it looks. Didnt buy this seasons kit due to the embarrassment of a PL club making their own Thailand knock offs (and still charging over 40quid for it). A decent design next year by any brand will see me buy my first kit since the sash. anyone know of a timeline? I always hate how late we reveal them. all the OTHER big teams release at least the away kit coming into the end of the season. Didnt some clubs used to release it in may and wear it for the last game of the season?

Any new info '9 on what saints can expect next season? From info the last few years, it's normally signed off on by Jan.
-
I really rate this. I like a bit of a funky away kit. A good strong home kit (Rank Xerox / Feyanood) with something modern n different as the away kit. keep everyone happy.

Yeah it seems she has done some research and not just gone with what she read in 3 or 4 headlines in other publications. Yes they are 2nd hand quotes but used to compliment the argument.
-
Great article here about the saints stricture and philosophy. I know there has been a few of late but this one seems like a very well planned out argument / statement. http://talksport.com/football/revealed-reasons-southampton-are-second-premier-league-141120125478

In reply to those talking about depth n losing players to the African Cup
-
The Asian cup is on during Jan also. Not sugh a big deal as we would only lose Yoshida but other clubs may lose more.
-
Jack Cork can do a job there too.
-
The9..... u know all yhing kit. How can Everton be umbro next season. Thought they no longer exist
-
An example of this would be Bayern, who use the colour scheme more than the style/design. They regularly wear stripes and have done many times over the years, but not exclusively. They change it up from red n white stripes, to all red, to the funky red n blue stripes they have for next season (which they have done a couple of times in their history). I grew up with Le Tiss in red n white stripes, so stripes sit well with me, but I dont MIIIND the ocasional change up (trust me i would never had said this when the pinstripe umbro one came out 2years ago!!!). As Ratio D says, as lonog as they go to stripes here n there to keep nostalgia. Im affraid of what we will 'get' next season but hope to return to a sharp kit the following year.

very good point. Im sure they would have been keen to get it out asap after al lthe addidas drama. but with MoPo n SRL taking off n many seeming to want to join them, maybe they dont wanna heap more c**p on themselves with the c-grade rubbish they are about to dish up. maybe we go with warrior, and have all red, n jsut tell AL n friends that they are already at liverpool?!
-
odds of SRL to score a pen vs us next season?!!! liverpool get 3 a game anyway and you just know they will play him vs us, as ex-players are a cert to put one in the net when they come back.
-
LUKAKU..... just watched highlights from Belgium friendlies. such a beast. would love it if we got him. switch for Shaw?! then buy a new LB for cheap
-
whoever is the best of the Under 16s team we are left with when all the newspaper reports come true and we are torn to shreads by the big boys. or, the board hold firm and we have JWP, Davis, JRod, Lovren, Lallana, Gaston, new striker all to choose from.
-
Im anxious as to what will happen and can see both sides of the arguments going on here at the moment. It sucks we dont know anything and that it feels like the players are being kept in the dark also. But i can also see the others' point that nothing's done until its DONE, so calm down and wait and see. This blog is an interesting read on the situation coming out of the news sites last night. WORTH A READ, NO MATTER WHICH SIDE YOU SIT ON! http://www.footyplace.com/features/saints-right-to-stay-silent-but-departures-are-inevitable-0527294021 FWIW I hope we dont get torn apart this summer as some doomsdayers are claiming. But I do feel we will have a few changes here and there. Lets just hope we have learnt from the last few tiems we have done well or sold players for decent money.
-
Im just saying, i like cork in the middle with spider as much as VW with him. And you wouldnt say cork would go for over 10m. i think VW brought some physicality to the DM position, but his passing is horrible and makes some stupid challenges.... eg sunday vs United when he had 2 other defenders there, no need to make a challenge let alone kick the crap out of him.
-
oh... and Gaston. still think he will come good at some point n showed glimpses but another big money buy that hasnt lived up to it
-
of our transfers in the last couple years, we really have had some shockers haven't we. Mayuka didnt do anything, Osvaldo, VW is good but not 12m good and gazza conseeds a goal at more than 50% of the time he is shot at.
-
Looks great. so i presume we wont have it. exclusively provide generic crap last few years! also, i HATE the 'own brand'. Not living in the UK, means you never see saints shirts. I have friends who will buy any club shirt they like and the profile of teams raise if their shirt is seen at stores around the country/world. In that era, i could buy a Leeds or newcastle shirt, but no saints. own brand is against the idea of expanding the clubs profile/global reach.
-
probably right.... I hate how saints are always the last to release the new kits. All the big clubs bring at least an away kit out coming into the end of the season. i know last season it was a sponsor cock up that may have delayed it and i guess again the change of sponsor this coming season, but give us something to go on saints.
-
dont rate this at all. im sure the Milan fans wont either. with jsut the one thick black stripe down the middle it looks horrid. the st georges cross is from their badge but not sure it suits them. imagine if we just had the tree on ours? tho i know that is a chat for another thread going at the min.
-
Am i the only one who thinks the club badge is naff?

I love it. as many have said, people know its us even if it didnt say southampton across the bottom. I really like the white monochrome on the away kit this year, very modern. this is probably the best and most acceptable 'improvement'. Not a fan of the gold one though. when we changed the ball to look like the 80/90s ball was not the best upgrade IMO. -
maybe a song or some recognition before the game... then mess up the northerners on the field!
