Instead of having one manager why not have a committee of managers. I'm quite sure a few of them are still on the payroll.
They can even have a quick board meeting at half time, not to discuss substitutions (don't be silly), but which manager(s) should be sacked that week and to line up managerial replacement(s).
For good measure, if we were ever winning a game at half time, full time bonuses could be finalised for those with the best suggestions for snatching a improbable defeat from the jaws of an almost certain victory.
