What's the highest number of players anyone has ever signed from one club in one window? If these three come off, that'll be five from City this summer.

Nobody signs anyone the day before deadline day. I'm convinced that once it gets to within 48 hours of the window 'slamming shut' all deals that get completed are just kept secret and then "teased" throughout the day to make it more exciting.

Also, by pure coincidence, my nextdoor neighbour is a similar age to me and is also a Saints fan! Couldn't believe it when I found out. When we moved here, I was quite standoffish and "I don't want to be too pally with the neighbours" but since establishing the Saints connection, we talk every day pretty much throughout the day and go to the pub and watch most games together...Cheers Saints 😄 You just wouldn't get that if it was United or Liverpool it'd just be a "Cool, me too..." and never mention it again

I seem to remember the club trolling everyone by saying at 11pm that they won't be doing anymore business and then about 10 minutes later having a photo of two hands signing a contract with the caption reading something like "But that doesn't mean we've announced all the business we've done" or something

Brownhill is a solid player. Reminds me of when we had Jack Cork - One of those that won't get the credit they deserve and just goes about their business with little fuss. If it were a sensible fee, I'd be fairly pleased.

Didn't see that but I take things like that with a pinch of salt because it's probably twisted by the media. He was shellshocked, put under the spotlight and probably didn't know what he was going on about.

Utterly ridiculous. I don't think he's a particularly great manager (not terrible either) from what we've seen so far but why give someone a whole summer to get to know players, be involved in transfers, plan for the season and then just chop them after 4 games. Giving him a summer is basically committing to giving him a chance, seems like a proper knee jerk reaction to go back on that after 4 games. Sacking any manager in August is just ridiculous tbh
