  1. My mate was advertising one in the Villa end if you wanted me to pass on your details?
  2. Game on - Confirmed
  3. I still maintain that a postponement might not be the end of the world. Lavia, Tino etc getting an extra month to recover (with the international break and the postponement that's already taken place) can't be anything but a good thing. Against Wolves, IMO we missed Tino more than we've missed any other injured player in recent times, the space between our midfield and defence was ridiculous (was for Wolves as well tbf, that's why I actually thought it was quite an enjoyable game. I'm in the minority I know). I appreciate that it's a trivial matter in the grand scheme of things and as much as I'm craving my football fix, this game could be a real six pointer that Lavia could make all the difference for. Then again, I guess there's always going to be a couple of injuries floating around so maybe I'm just overthinking it.
  4. Where did they say that? Officially I mean.
  5. Well if people were planning on going to games, it would be quite careless of them to to arrange all their travel and turn up at the ground without checking it's still on.
  6. EFL confirm midweek fixtures are all on.
  7. Had to have a proper think about who some of them were. Particularly ID and JA
  8. Surely out of common decency, they should tell us today whether this is on or not. Did read yesterday that for this weekend's games, only the ones in London are at risk of being cancelled.
  9. I was today years old when I read this thread and didn't look at the date and wondered why Joe Jordan would be scouting Lallana's caretaker management for Spurs when there's no game on.
  10. Except that would be fair because you're paying for it in advance. You're also paying for it knowing that games could be moved, like you said life isn't fair. It seems like you're rejecting a "because I said so" argument and then applying your own. Yes, you're right different people would go. If a fan works every Saturday, they can barely ever get to games if it's always on Saturday. If it's spread out, they can get to more. Why is that so hard to understand? The only reason I could imagine anyone having a problem with this is if Saturday 3:00pm was literally the only free time you had all week for 52 weeks of the year and that would put you in a very small minority. I'll leave it there. Wishing you a pleasant weekend.
  11. What does that have to do with anything? Spreading games across the weekend is a fair way of doing it. There's no point in sticking to something just because it's the way it's always been. Every game being Saturday 3pm was abandoned decades ago and with good reason. More people can get to games and people can watch more games on TV.
  12. Definitely practical positives for us.
  13. "So more people can watch games" - As I said.
  14. "It's not fair because I can't make Sunday at 2pm, I demand that every single game is 3:00pm on Saturday when I can make it" But people can miss out on Saturday 3pm? Shift work is growing and more people are having to work Saturdays. Spreading games throughout the weekend is a very fair way of allowing as many people as possible to get to games or watch games. The only logical reasoning for making everything Saturday 3:00pm is "because it always has been" which is a terrible logic for not changing things.
  15. If it's true that William is trying to get the games to go ahead, the cynic in me can't help but feel that he wants the games to go ahead because Villa have Leicester who are in a horrific run of form and he, as a (in fairness quite genuine and committed) Villa fan wants to capitalise on that. I'm sure that's not the only reason but I bet that's in the back of his mind...😂
  16. Source?
  17. Prince William allegedly in favour of the games going ahead (from one of these clickbait FB pages so I wouldn't take that as gospel) but can't help but feel like we might benefit from not playing until October. We have two winnable games coming up and Lavia has been one of our best players (possibly even our best) this season. The less games he misses the better.
  18. And what about those who can't make Saturday 3:00pm?
  19. From what I knew of her, it seems that that's the last thing she would have wanted tbf.
  20. That's subjective. I certainly wouldn't want her job. She gets literally 2-3 days off a year, even into her 90's. I mean proper days off where she can do as she pleases. Every minute of her life is pretty much dictated to her right down to when she can use the toilet most of the time. There's also no option to cancel any of her tasks unless she is very very ill. Not to mention the fact that she has to be a certain way all the time. When her dad, mum and sister died (who she was extremely close to), she had to be 'told' how to grieve and what was too much or too little. Same with Charles, imagine finding out your mother is gravely ill, having to drop everything to be at her bedside - Much like most sons would but to also have cameras on you and then 24 hours later have to speak to the whole planet live about it. She Queen has to change clothes 4-5 times a day. That may not seem like a big deal to you and me but imagine that as a 90 odd year old woman (and let's be honest, it is a bigger task for women than men) and she gets 0 say in what she wears. The Senior Royals are born into standing, yes but privilege? I'm not convinced it actually is.
  21. What a ridiculous reaction. No 'decision' has even been announced yet
  22. Yep. Also there's a sickness bug going through Saints atm according to the Echo.
  23. Cricket cancelled
  24. We're on TV on the Friday night so could still go ahead.
  25. She's died RIP
