Yep. He's class. Big Vic brings more of a physical presence, JC has a better all round game. We're lucky to have such strength in the DM position. Wonder what it'd take for JC to get an England call up?

Absolutely a player we should go for; would immediately improve the starting 11. Essentially he's Steven D, but with way more skill and creativity, and scores goals. If he goes to another prem side I will be mightily ****ed off.

Having mused this overnight I now wonder if we would be better to keep him...... No need to rush into decisions. Have him train with the U21s until he makes a full, honest and public apology. Assuming he wants to go the World Cup he'd have little choice but to knuckle down and earn a place in the side, and then impress enough top get to Brazil. We won't see his value drop any more from now to the end of the season (if he doesn't play much); but it could go up if he has a decent WC.

Yep. Think he is a quality, quality player. And really could have done something for us. Was so excited when he signed. Was a little concerned that he hadn't fitted in as quickly as he should......you expect a fully grown, experienced guy to adapt to the PL quicker. Up to now I haven't minded his temperament/aggression: can't hurt to ave a 'handy lad' on the pitch. But now....no. Time to cut loose. Swap deal or loan with a sell after the World Cup. Wonder how long he'll remain our record signing?

If we take the same model as we applied in the summer - that signings should improve the first team squad (ignoring any debate about whether Ossie actually has....it was clear that it was intended he would), then Astori, at that price would be great business. We could get him: why would he sign for a mid-table club like Man U with a negative manager rather than an upcoming future powerhouse. C'mon NC, sell him The Project. ...oh, yeah......umm.

At that money we surely have to go after him?

What a fantastic game to watch. Brilliant entertainment. We should've been out of sight in the first half; couple of wasted chances and a hit post - could've/should've had 4 or 5. Always going to be tougher in the second half in front of a passionate crowd; thought we did pretty well at times - still created a few chances. Gaston looked very lively when he came on. Really hope the injuries aren't too bad. Decent away point really.
