Posted by Chelsea fan : Lesley Ugochukwu — There is a serious, SERIOUS case to make for him to stay with the Chelsea first team this season. HOWEVER, at this stage of his career, match time is vital. If all goes well, I believe Lesley will be a massive part of Russell Martin’s Southampton this season. Again, I like that David Ornstein stated that Chelsea have Ugo in their future plans, because he has the potential to be more than good enough. Southampton Supporters — Lesley is a footballer with ball-retention, aerial ability, tackling ability (those long limbs), covers a lot of ground, ELITE engine, an eye for key passes, great build-up play, confident footballer (such an important trait nowadays), a great character for the locker room, and so much more. The footballing world has yet to see the best of him. Once he puts everything together… WOW. Please, don’t let this be another Andrey Santos x Nottingham Forest situation (I don’t think it will be).

So BBD is a unit if we decide to go long he has a great first touch and linked well with Taylor. However if we continue to piss about with it in our box and McCarthy doesn’t look left as in Lazio game it doesn’t matter who is up top from goal kicks!

A bit like Mara then 🙂 Although not sure hated maybe bit strong

🚨 Southampton are in advanced talks to sign Lesley Ugochukwu (20) on loan from Chelsea, with no buy option #saintsfc @David_Ornstein he is 6ft 3 and we now have Flyn cover! -
🚨 Due to Southampton’s requests, negotiations with Flamengo for Charly Alcaraz are currently at an impasse — the Brazilian side are looking at other options #saintsfc @geglobo 🚨 After requesting €18m from Flamengo for Charly Alcaraz, Southampton have now asked for a deal to include their players Iago (19, RB) or Vitor Hugo (20, CM) — or a payment of €25m #saintsfc @geglobo

Loan fee with obligation to buy after certain number of games? At least saves wages but think that’s us about £10m down on transfer fees

Better than we have! 🚨 𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚: Wojciech Szczęsny and Juventus have agreed to mutually TERMINATE his contract. The goalkeeper receives a significant pay-off and becomes a free agent. 🗞️ @FabrizioRomano

I saw on X this morning Ben Sheaf at Coventry linked ps 🚨 #SaintsFC and Ipswich are interested in Coventry midfielder Ben Sheaf. [via @ThatCovPod]

Couldn’t disagree more he is the one midfielder that does go forward and takes people on. He is the only one with any strength and doesn’t just gift it. Scored some valuable goals and I celebrated that one at Brum like mad

The Ox hasn’t signed for anyone yet :-)
-
what if we didn’t have the money? Would you have not signed Downes or THB instead ?
-
Yes at Wellington Sports ground owned by the Uni opposite Eastleigh FC - i believe they were ejected for non payment of rent. I used to play there for Mullards/Phillips was brilliant surface to play on.

He answered this to someone who was being a right twat on x. Adam Blackmore I don’t think I behave differently to either if I’m honest - Russell is more open as a person which encourages more, and his answers are longer. Also, i don’t know how to conduct an interview without asking questions … …and people make two much of some of our exchanges. We get on very well away from the mic and he’s good company. What he does do is defend himself more, which is fine. But some people take that as a personal thing against me - it isn’t. My BBC columns last season were pro-RM throughout coz i think he’s a good manager for Saints !
-
Yes he did and won’t be coming here that’s just click bait.

Well going by what I saw on Saturday he is a focal point we don’t have. His touch isn’t bad and he drew 3 fouls in time he was on. He played a withdrawn role that allowed Edozie and Armstrong to play up more and it nearly worked but Armstrong scuffed it wide. I think he is something different that may unsettle some defenders and give Armstrong etc more opportunities and for what €10m worth keeping unless we invest that in a keeper and quality forward.
