Don't think so, or II, Powell and Makin would be on there.

Nice to see we have Lundekvam and Viafara back onboard too.

Some guy was selling Friday practice tickets on ebay for £25 for 3. I only need one, but it would have saved a packet if I could have gone. Baj has I think already left. Think his trip is something like the 1st till the 8th, best try him on his mobile. Saturday morning practice is 11-12 local, so I am going to try and get there for 9, which means leaving here at about 7, having got back from Kaunas at 12 the previous night... must remember to get some red bull tommorow, mind you I think one team should have a plentiful supply. Go DC!!

Any general advice regarding tickets, parking, things to take etc? Do you need earplugs. Made the mistake of not taking earplugs to the Phoenix 500 NASCAR last year. Luckily a friend had some, but the noise was deafening.

Yeah. I look set for Saturday. Gotta fly to Lithuania and back on Friday, so I'm going to miss out on that. Anyway, thanks for the info Michelle. I think I'm going for yellow as I need a ticket, then I'm going to trot down under Eau Rouge and head off towards Pouhon. If I can get some pics from Eau Rouge of the first session, that would be great, but I don't think there is that much of a view from the bronze areas. Will have to scout. I know where Malmedy is and will probably try to see all the track and probably get suckered into buying some souvenirs along the way. Knowing Spa, I will probably need Sun Cream at La Source and a rain coat at Stavelot. Afterwards a short drive South for tea with Baj. Should be a good do I reckon.

If the results start to pick up, so will the attendances. You can probably add a thousand for the sky viewers, too. If the results don't pick up attendances will stay low and it will prove what I've been saying all along. In any business, you can't cut costs to the extent that you supply an inferior product, and still espect the same number of customers to spend the same amount of money as before. The huge drop in spending on the first team is invariably going to affect our income. To what extent remains to be seen.
-
Sorry, it's just not. The fullbacks are in no way good enough for this league. Surman and James are our first choice and they struggled to cope against one of the poorest teams in this league. In midfield it remains to be seen whether Wotton and Pulis CDAJFU. I'll give them a chance, but I'm hardly excited by their signings. Up front where are the goals coming from? I can't see beyond about 20 between them over the course of the season.

Booing and small crowds will not get us relegated. If we avoid relegation, I cannot see why we would go into administration. We surely have one of the lowest wage bills in this league.
-
Are you sure it was spelt like that? If it was I'd bet on it just being some NOTW journalist not having a clue what he was on about for a change.

IIRC Timothy McVeigh had 2 pints of mint ice cream.

I think we can do without all of this. Especially, as Greenridge pointed out, as the thread was started by a poster who refered to a group of fans as 'nobs'.
-
There is no possible way that could be the case. If we drop a divison, all that will happen is the best players will be sold and we will in all likelyhood end up in administration with a points deduction. Relegation will be about as good for the club as it was last time. With money to spend and Nigel Pearson. If it had been us relegated, I am sure Lowe would have gotten rid of Pearson anyway.

It's the bit about 3 seconds after the end that disappointed me the most.

Whilst that's true to an extent, I think there is more we can do to improve in the time available than many other clubs. It's clear from yesterday that we need to do a lot of work tactically to have a plan for when it all goes tits up and we find ourselves behind, not making any real impression. It also gives JP a chance to assess fringe players like Euell, Thomas, Skacel and BWP to see if they CDAJFU.

I fully understand that these were difficult circumstances, especially for such a young team. However I personally can't just brush it under the "three games in a week and they're still learning" rug. If there was uproar last season for changing the team, then it was because most of Burley's changes were for the worse, whilst at the same time he stuck with several baffling selections which clearly weren't working. I would always pick the team I think is most likely to win the next match. If a player has performed poorly, for whatever reason, and we have a suitable replacement available, I am inclined to try him out. I'd let the players learn all the time. Letting them play for the first team however I think should be reserved for those that are ready. Can you honnestly say you'd rather have James in the team than Cork? You seem to be forget that our side is made almost entirely of young players learning. DMG, Holmes, MS, Gillett, Lallana, even Surman. Whilst they seem to be coping very well, I think James and White are just a step too far. You have to draw a line somewhere. You can't just stick a 23 week old foetus on the pitch and say he's young, he's still learning.
-
The difference being on the bench he can do whatever he likes without putting us at risk of conceding goals.
-
and... Well, I personally was asking what needs to be changed (if anything IYO) to improve a side which has lost 3 out of 4 league matches.
-
I think he looked marginally better, but Drew wasn't fantastic either. Also guilty of a booking for a needless rash challenge.
-
Whatever you want to call it, I just don't think he looks comfortable.
-
It wasn't so much that Killer had a bad game as that he looked off the pace and lacking sharpness. If he can get that back before QPR then great, but if not I'd give Thomas a run out. Gillett on the other hand did look sharp, but just made several mistakes. Maybe they will both be ready for the QPR game, however I think it would be unfair on Thomas, who is match fit, to be left out in favour of Killer, who looked like he wasn't. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on James. I just didn't think he looked ready yet, or comfortable playing fullback.
-
Is it really going to be me that has to say it? The antidote.
-
Gillett has shown himself in the past to be good enough for the first team. Yesterday it was clear that he had the ability and the maturity to be in the first team, however he made a several mistakes with misplaced passes and the odd rash challenge. I think the first half hour showed what he is really about and given a 2 week break he will be back to his best. White and James I just don't think are ready. White just looked lost and barely touched the ball for long periods of the game. James I think struggled to cope with Hammill and just didn't look comfortable either. The problem is a Killer and Perry combination lacks pace. If Killer isn't winning things in the air, it is all to easy for teams to hoof it up to some great big lard a*se like Burgess and have quick players like Hammill and Kabba playing of the rebounds. We were slightly fotunate in that I think Kabba played too far off Burgess to take full advantage. A fully fit Killer I completely agree would be awesome. However Killer yesterday looked off the pace and a bit behind the game.
-
Our main problem was sticking religiously with things which clearly weren't working. I'm thinking tactics like using Euell, BWP and Viafara and wingers, Wright as a left back etc. Much as I disagree with changes for changes sake, I think there are some aspects of the team which need adjustment. White and James I don't think are ready. Killer I wouldn't be upset to see in the team, but I'd personally rather have Thomas. I don't think 3 changes to a team which has just lost at home to a poor Blackpool side is going overboard.
-
I am not trying to blame Lowe, but to think he wants to do anything other than sell them would be naive. I also think the players are being left out the team because Poortvliet has been told we are trying to offload them and he can't rely on them this season. I think it's far more plausible than the other explanation: All the players over 23 have suddenly decided they don't want to play for Saints and are refusing to appear in the first team. Your final sentiment however is correct, so I will leave it at this. How can you say there is no way the players will be sold? Yes it looks increasingly unlikely, but we managed to offload Skacel with about 10 minutes left of the January window. For all we know some of the players could have deals lined up and will leave in the next few days. As I said above, it's more likely than them all developing a sudden attitude problem, much like the "attitude problem" Rasiak, Safri, Viafara, Davies and Saganowski all suddenly developed just before they left.
-
Yes. It has nothing to do with what I have to say, but I do understand it thanks. My point is that you seem to have been brainwashed by the OS into thinking the new youth team is the best thing since sliced bread and every time a player over the age of 24 leaves, it is some kind of victory for the club. I happen to think that BWP, Euell, Skacel and also John all want to play for us, but aren't being selected. I know it is neigh on impossible to sell these players, but we shouldn't hate them for it.
