  1. Clearly a penalty, and it is a simplification to say that the subs cost us the game. The three up front ran around like mad men the whole game, and was probably tired. We conceded three goals because or marking wasnt good enough. Zonal marking at that last corner was indeed a bad choice....

    Luke Shaw

Is it time to give him a chance?
  3. Strange to take off our three top performers, they must have been tired. Terrible zonal defending at the winning goal. We dont have the material at defense to use that kind of tactics, we should go for man marking from now on.
  4. Only disappointment to me is that we didn't sign another defender. Really hoped for Boilesen. But hey, my impression is that the club did a fantastic effort to bring in the right players, and that we didn't do any panic buys. Now I'm just gonna lean back and enjoy the season, no matter what. Prepared for the worst, hoping for the best. COYR
  5. Like most on here, Ive got nothing to really say. Just pushing for page 100.
  6. Dissapointing, of course. We started best, and it was a quite even match which could have gone both ways. I think we looked well organized in defense, but we really struggled to break wigan down at times, which is worrying. Fonte at fault for both goals in my opinion, all tough he has to share the blame with Jos for the first goal. Hopefully we'll see some new blood coming in this week. COYR.
  7. Well organized in defense. Struggled in the last third of the attack. We need more pace up front, as we already knew.
  8. Latest from twitter watch is that we have only THREATENED to withdraw our offer for young Gaston unless the deal is completed today.
  9. Just a question: do he need a work permit?
  10. Simon Peach tweeted this:#SaintsFC & Bologna have agreed a fee & payment plan for Ramirez. The hold up is because the Rossoblù are trying to sort out their finances. and then: #SaintsFC have also sorted out agreement with Ramirez's former club Penarol for their 30%. Hold up is Bologna messing around with finances. and then: “@gregvul: @SimonPeach are they trying to get a loan which would be secured on our repayments?” Seems that way.
  11. I'm glad we´re not bending over to Bolognas demands. We are still a small club and its probably smart to not let us be bullied by the bigger ones.
  12. Strange that it would come down to payments, isn't? Well, on the bright side we avoid the gamble it would be to splash out on one player that would probably become the clubs biggest earner. Hopefully we can sign a centre back and a pacey winger until Wigan.
  13. Lambert - 8
  14. Davis - 4 Clyne - 8 Jos - 7 Fonte - 6 Fox - 4 Schneiderlin - 6 Ward-Prowse - 6 (Davis - 7) Lallana - 8 Guly - 6 Puncheon - 6 Rodriguez - 6 (Lambert - Everything IMHO
  15. Very pleased with that! Davis and Fox struggled, but apart from that no one was out of depth. Two goals against a team that conceded 12 totally at home last season is impressiv.
  16. Never played football in Hampshire, but still sorry for your loss mate.
  17. So, if the deal was to take Walcott for £8m + Luke Shaw, would you take it?
  18. Official_Zaha.. ‏@yungzaha @Nathaniel_Clyne signed for southampton ...goodluck lad
  19. Zaha now says on twitter that he has signed for us!
  20. Is it proven that we have tried to sell him?
  21. - I know of Norwegian players who have made bets on scorers, first kick, first throw and stuff. It's something I have been involved in a number of years in England. I've made bets on matches that I have been involved in, the former Southampton player says to VG Nett. He says it usually was done as a team. The money was collected in a pot before the game, where they made bets as to who should get the first throw in the match. The game was set by others. We agreed with the opponent captain who was to kick off. So we could, for example, play the ball back to the midfield player who bumped it up to the opposite side and center-back again sent it over the line. It's a pretty normal start to a match, no one would have suspected and it was very easy for us to control the little things like that. Lundekvam says that they "made some money on it." - We also had some inside information on both team sheets, who would take penalties and things like that. We could manipulate and control the little things in games. Never profit bets Lundekvam claim that he has never been part of playing on the outcome or results of matches. - The result was never on the agenda. I'd never been to either. Even though we did of course was illegal, it was just a fun thing. - What do you think about what you did now? - I do not think it's sporty or morally right for us to do what we did. But we had a chance to do it then, and it was just like that. After retiring as a footballer, he has come forward with their own alcohol, gambling and drug problems. Since then he has also been actively involved in the fight against doping, substance abuse and addiction.
  22. http://www.vg.no/sport/fotball/norsk/1-divisjon/artikkel.php?artid=10066531 Says the whole team took part in betting scams. Never about the result, but time of the first throw-in in, penalty takers, and other small stuff.
  23. Even as a championship club targeting promotion I would say our spending was cautious last season. Cork, Lee, Jos and De Ridder probably didn't cost us more than 1.5m-2m, and everyone expected someone more expensive to arrive. Who knows how much we bid for Hooper, or if we even did. Point is, we didn't sign him, which probably was because he was to expensive. We ended up with Sharp for 1.8m, how much more do you reckon we bid for Hooper? It just doesn't seem like our current management are eager to splash around big bucks, which in my opinion is rational. Especially when it comes to English players. How pleased are QPR fans with their signings of Zamora and Cisse? Cost respectively 6m and 4m, haven't scored many goals, old, and value and skills will decrease. I think the focus on scouting abroad is a certain proof that we'll look for cheaper options. And who knows, maybe the next Drogba (cost Marseilles 3m when they bought him, and Guingamp 80k before that) will be playing for us next season. Fingers crossed.
  24. 3.5m - 4m is perhaps a bit too cautious estimate, I agree. That aside, I wouldn't make to many assumptions based on media/agents. According to some of them, Peter Reid and Rohan Rickets were about to arrive not to long ago. Signing Jarvis for 7m - 10m just doesn't fit into our recent transfer history.
