"We tried to sign a striker..."

Well it started with so much promise but it's another very underwhelming window for us imo. 5 transfer windows on and we will still have massive Pelle/Mane sized gaps in our starting 11.
-
I got a load of buffering when I went away from the paid subs and tried Ace Stream.
-
Gunn Cedric - Yoshida - Vestergaard - Bertrand Romeu - PEH Redmond - Armstrong - Elyounoussi Gabbi Redmond makes it in there because of our lack of quality at attacking midfielders.

Lemina certainly didn't have a good first half. He constantly gave the ball away. -
Can't imagine wages are that much of a massive factor now. I reckon Bournemouth have spent much more than us when you take away the money we have made from player sales, should they be able to? No. Purse strings are tight at St. Mary's and have been for the last four years. No one sells like we do.

A clear indication on the downgrades that have happened here since 2016.
-
Wonder what our net spend is vs Bournemouth's since they got promoted to the Premier League...
-
Wonderful. Hopefully it means he doesn't even bother with this utter turd formation.
-
It doesn't work because we have players like Stephens, Hoedt and Bednarek who are Championship standard. Best to convert back to a back four an ensure none of the names above are near the starting 11.

Yoshida misses a sitter. Good corner from JWP. -

Bit of a rarity this but good defending from Hoedt to read a through ball. -

Fail to see the point of signing Gunn if McCarthy is going to be our number 1 this season. -

I think Hughes needs to ditch this 3 at the back and switch it to a flat 4. Get Yoshida in there with Vestergaad as it's clear we won't be in the market for another CB, so hope they can form some sort of partnership. -

Should be 2. Good save McCarthy. Too easy for them against that awful backline. -

He's the only one who stands out from that list but realistically it would only be the expected strugglers imo... -

Would Bednarek, Yoshida, Stephens or Hoedt start for any other Premier League side? Doubt it. -

Been a fair few goals this pre season where the defence have been so slow to react to through balls, hell they almost went 1 up inside 15 seconds because our backline stood still.
