  1. Some sobering thoughts from a Leeds Fan copy and pasted from 606. I think a lot of the post rings true: Dear Saints Fans As a Leeds supporter who went through something similar two summers ago, all I can do besides sympathise is let you in on what to expect going forward. Firstly, the "buyers" who are circling to take over your club. Well, they will have to come up with what you owe HMRC in taxes in order to avoid an extra 15 points deduction. Truth is, as it stands, you will start next season minus 25 points if you are taken over, because there is no rational way to come out of administration except to pay off the debts, meaning the new owners need to stump up £24-million just for that, and then have a few more million available to run the club successfully. Being in Lge 1 means you are not that attractive a business proposition anymore, and with anything from a minus 10 to minus 25 penalty hanging over you, buyers are going to be very cautious and reluctant. Secondly, forget about "doing a Leicester". When the Foxes came down, they weren't bust, had no points penalty and kept their squad. The Chairman also allowed them to add to it, so they were able to stroll this division. Saints, on the other hand, are in admin, and so your players are the easiest assets to sell. The wage bill will also be dramatically reduced, so expect to be signing some very average free transfers and loanees. That is the way when you drop to this level, have no cash and sit with a points deduction. It will be difficult to attract good players to St Mary's. Thirdly, the clubs in Lge 1 will want to beat you so badly it hurts. Every team, whether they are top or bottom, will play out of their skins when you face them. Saints will be a big scalp for them, and they will absolutely play until they drop to beat you. Expect to be playing in 46 cup finals next season. Lastly, you are now at the mercy of predator buyers, and if you thought Lowe was bad, wait until you see who steps forward to make a bid now. When Bates bought Leeds back, the other so-called interested parties never ever put money on the table, instead electing to wage their buying campaigns through the media, and we were left frustrated as lots of verbals were exchanged, but never the big bucks that were promised. So Saints fans, hang on tight, because its going to get harder before it gets easier. By next season you should have new owners, and you better pray they are in it for the club. You will definitely have a new team, and while you're on your knees ask the big guy if he can at least ensure you have a few decent players. Good luck for next season, and I can honestly say I hope we don't have to play you. Most importantly, you have to now stick together and stand by your club. You are all they've got. Marching On Together
  2. errm I think that's the point. They have rules which haven't been broken by SFC. Still the club has been penalised. Sorry, but get your facts right. It's like being at school and having to accept the discipline of a teacher without recourse. I say fight the ****ers and if that means more ridiculous points reductions so be it. I'll be standing on the touchline watching Saints, don't care if they drop out of the FL.
  3. You really are a ****. Why did you drop your last nickname. Sundance Beast suited you. Is it because you don't want to be associated with all the crap you spouted? Trouble is, you can't help yourself and you're doing it all again...
  4. Can't you change the f'in record? Today isn't the day. Go and listen to some Smiths records.
  5. You guys are boring (Um Pahars, Guided Missile). Get over your egos and the obvious need you feel to defend your very many posts on the subject. The club is in very real danger. You are both Saints fans. We all should be united in one thing - the survival of the club. Personally, I have no interest in what you guys have said or not said in the past. Get over yourselves. The club is bigger than both of you.
  6. 2 April 2009 Southampton Leisure Holdings plc ("SLH" or "the Company") Appointment of Administrators The Board announces today that it has appointed Mark Fry and David Hudson of Begbies Traynor (South) LLP as joint administrators to the Company. Rupert Lowe, Andrew Cowen and Michael Wilde have resigned as directors of the Company with immediate effect. Southampton Football Club Limited, a subsidiary of the Company, is unaffected by these insolvency proceedings.
  7. Am I right in saying that when Derby did it there were no rules in place to deduct points from teams that went into admin?
  8. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/football_league/article6018369.ece Not sure if this has been posted. Looks like the rule about holding company going into admin was put in place to protect the associated football team from suffering if the holding company has got into trouble elsewhere. As SLH only owns the FC and the ground it seem we are somewhat taking the **** in trying to avoid the deduction. From the reaction I've been reading in this article and elsewhere, there will be a lot of fallout from other clubs if we do manage to duck the points deduction.
  9. oops...forgot kieran Dyer

  11. Lowe's reply: "You acted as the king maker to Michael Wilde. You acted as the king maker. You listened to it all and Mr Trant made a promise to me to put money in and didn’t do it. You are as much to blame. The club you inherited and became a director of and are now abdicating all responsibility – you were on the board, you were chairman."
  12. From the transcript of the last AGM... Crouch to Lowe: "The plan we are working on now is my plan but there is a difference. I would have had experienced players, loan players and free transfers, but you bought young ones and they’re not strong enough. You’re a disgrace. You have appointed a manager who is out of his depth and who hasn’t a clue. You’ve ****ed it up. Where is Nigel Pearson? Top of the league. He had the fans, the players, the board, the staff – they loved Nigel Pearson and they hate you. You came back because of your big bloody ego but you’re not wanted here. This club will go into relegation and administration and you know it…"
