  1. These analogies are really not being thought through properly. First off; where has this notion that Bergkamp was a failure in his early Arsenal years come from? He scored 11 in 33 in his first season; and he was never noted for being an out and out striker, his game was much more than that. Scoring 1 in 3 is a perfectly adequate return; that season for Arsenal it was only bettered by one person, Ian Wright, with 15. Bergkamp's overall league record for Arsenal was 87 goals in 315 games; that's worse than the 1 in 3 average of his first season. If anything his first season was one of his most prolific. You mention Thierry Henry at Arsenal. Is this the same Thierry Henry who, in his debut season, played in every league game and scored 17 goals? Fair to assume that a lot of those goals would have been from the wing, too. So I don't think the Arsenal fans had to demonstrate too much patience there; Henry was clearly a cut above right from the very off. As for the analogy with MLT, that's perhaps the most pointless one. Gaston Ramirez is not in his first full season; he has been playing professional football since 2008 and he is 22 years old. Le Tissier was 18 years old in his debut season. More to the point, he was a youth team graduate with little expectation on his shoulders. Like it or not, someone decided that Ramirez was worth spending a massive club record £12M on, and again, like it or not that figure will be used as a benchmark of his performances. With good and bad analogies alike.
  2. That's got to be the most blinkered assessment of an opponent's performance that I've ever seen. "WBA had 3 chances". F*ck me. Thay had that many within the first ten minutes.
  3. Bad AIDS.
  4. In that case, sir:
  5. Its akin to ribbing MLG. You know you shouldn't do it, you know it makes no sense, but its also too much of a funnily easy target.
  6. So you posted on an internet board about it? Hold the horses!! I never realised you were so proactive, so much so that you had a little whinge on an internet mongboard! A whinge that is as utterly irrelevant as your repetitive ramblings to this day. What a shame you were too much of a coward to do anything more; unlike those on the other side who really made a difference. I can see why you'd be ashamed of your lack of action, to be fair. If I cared that much about an issue and failed to do a single significant thing about it, I'd probably be embarrassed with myself too and keen to try and make amends for my shameful lack of action when it was really needed.
  7. You complain about the "vocal minority". Right or wrong in your eyes, they had the courage of their convictions to do something about it, and they protested against Hoddle. You (apparently) felt the other way, yet were too scared to stick your head above the parapet and make your feelings known. You shrank. You did nothing. Nothing at all. And yet you have your hilarious and relentless campaign to do something about an issue you did nothing at all to contribute to when it really mattered. You bottled it mate, you did nothing at all when it really mattered.
  8. Well being as I was living abroad the time I'd have done well to get my point across all too well. Still, another thing you've got hopelessly wrong. Well done you. Coward.
  9. Really? tell us what you did to combat the anti-Hoddle brigade that you prat on about so much. At the time, what did you do? Other than cry into your pillow.
  10. Unsurprising. He's the worst of cowards who doesn't back up his "hilarious" repetitive spoutings. That's why he's so repetitive with the Hoddle stuff, he completely bottled it and did nothing at the time. Nothing at all. He was worse than the "vocal minority" who he constantly refers to; at least they actually gave an opinion; this poor excuse just shrunk and said nothing. Timid little coward.
  11. Liar. You said 43 points. Then 41 points. Keep trying hard though.
  12. I bet you we wouldn't. Would you like to put your money where your repetitive mouth is?
  13. I was the other side of it at the ground and didn't see the extent of it at the time. Utterly ludicrous challenge, no excuse whatsoever. Summed up an abysmal day for Fox, the useless pr*ck. Not to mention getting undone for Lukaku's misses in the first half. Anyone who suggests Hooiveld is anywhere near Premier League material needs their head seeing to; he's a very poor defender at this level. That was like watching our eaarly season games. Yoshida also looked a pale imitation of a footballer, to be fair.
  14. Ever looked in the mirror? You try very hard though, so well done for that.
  15. Oh f*ck here we go, we're on MOTD.
  16. Crikey; did you count them all?
  17. Only around £80K a week, so not too much.
  18. Just watching MOTD, and noticed Coutinho. 20 years old. Just arrived from Italy after moving there from South America. £10M plus price tag. He looks superb. Absolutely superb. No "well, he might come good next season" from Liverpool fans. This lad is younger and cheaper than Ramirez, and he only arrived here in January. That's the impact a young, talented skillful player should have in this league.
  19. Indeed. I bet the Newcastle mongboards are a picture of calm this evening.
  20. No; I hope next season never comes. Ever.
  21. This seems to be a consistent hope for a few of our players.
  22. So sadly true. As impressed as I've been with JRod of late, today he was back to his start of season worst, a bit of a headless chicken. Lambert may be slow but he has ultimate composure; JRod often looks at times as if he can't take a shot without completely panicking and snatching at it.
  23. Its a bit more proof that we're better than relegation fodder, but not yet anywhere near the level requried to get near the European places. 10th - 17th in Premier League is extremely close, usually is. Staying up will be a very good accomplishment; progressing onwards significantly from that will be another step altogether.
  24. Thought much the same. Flat track bully, perhaps?
  25. For Uruguay in the Olympics.
