  1. What's the biggest animal he can throw over a crossbar?
  2. So essentially completely strip it out and convert into a museum?
  3. Just how much demand is there for a tourist attraction that lets people wander around the restaurants and cabins of a decommissioned cruise liner? Especially in a city which sees cruise liners almost every day of the year. I know the QE2 has had a long history and has a great connection with the city; I'm just wondering what the tangible benefit there is to mooring it up for any extended period of time. Would it be a popular thing; are there any similar examples where this has worked? Personally I can't think of a much more boring tourist attraction than wandering around an out of service liner when we've also upgraded to a bigger and better sister ship. HMS Victory and the Mary Rose, well I get that. The Southampton Hall of Aviation; yep, I get that too. The QE2? Not so much.
  4. Is it a dispute about the specifics of the specification? Or something specifically different?
  5. pap loves a war of words. Go on pappy! You shaggy-haired wordsmith.
  6. For the rugby; its debatable we'll get anything other than group games. Surely all England games will be played at Twickenham, so the best we can hope for is for a home-nations side; but then we're also potentially competing against the Olympic stadium, Millenium Stadium, Wembley, Old Trafford, St. James Park, Elland Road, Stadium of Light and Villa Park as grounds that have significantly more capacity than us. So you'd have to guess that the likelihood is we'll get games such as Tonga v Samoa, or other such thrillers. I don't think a justifiable case could be made that those sorts of ties will demand capacities in excess of St. Mary's; plus other stadia shortlisted include Bristol City, Leicester, Coventry, Brighton and MK, so there could be a bit of a big claim from all those clubs if they look to expand on the back of the RWC.
  7. Thought about that, sinking her and making a reef. Certainly better than having her sat in port as a "museum". A museum for what? Parts of the QE2 mile in Southampton look decent, so maybe adding to that with features of the ship could be an option (I especially like the anchor outside the old Firkin pub).
  8. Good riddance. But seriously, they wouldn't go bankrupt.
  9. Simple remedy as far as I can make out BearMan. 1st significant racist event on the part of your fans: big fine and play your next home competitive game behind closed doors, and next away competitive game no allocation given for your fans. 2nd significant racist event on the part of your fans: big fine and play the next 5 home games behind closed doors and no away allocation given for your fans for the next 5 away games. Any subsequent racist event; banned from that and the next major tournament qualification. That should do the trick.
  10. The terms of the CVA (unsecured creditors) has already been agreed. Portpin's charge on the ground means that they are a secured creditor which is treated differently, and if they doesn't accept the offer from the PST then the administrators can choose to go to court / Portpin can fight it in court (admittedly I'm not sure exactly who has to bring the case) if they feel a fair market value is being offered. Whichever way it goes, it's going to be a bit of a big mess. Of course, no-one has yet mentioned the player deferral payments yet. The PST were entirely dependent upon the parachute payments for those; all the while PKF are using those up with their own fees and a potentially lengthy legal battle then that source of funding gets signifcantly eroded, and the PST's ability to meet its payment obligations diminishes further still.
  11. Yes, it simply is that black and white. Again.
  12. Just to put into context how serious FIFA and UEFA are about stamping out racism: Niklas Bendtner was fined £80,000 after showing the tops of his underwear in the Euros and participating in a viral marketing scheme for Paddy Power. Manchester City were fined £24,740 by Uefa for returning to the field less than a minute late against Porto in Match - a fine 50% greater than the one issued to Porto over the racial abuse of Mario Balotelli A match between England and Serbia in the 2007 Under-21 European Championship in the Netherlands saw England defender Nedum Onuoha racially abused. Serbia were fined £16,000 by UEFA.
  13. Sail her into the mid-Atlantic, open the sea chests and let nature take its course. Time to move on.
  14. You've also got the potential situation of: Birch chooses the PST as preferred bidder. Chinny refuses to accept the £2.75M offer for his Fatpipe Park charge, so it goes to court. The court decides that the £2.75M figure is indeed too low, and sets a figure of, say, £5M. The PST can't afford £5M. OR Chinny doesn't accept the £5M valuation and appeals it, again in court. Any choice involving the PST has all sorts of potential twists and turns with no quick outcome. I've said I expect nothing to be settled before Christmas, if the PST get the nod then it could be the summer before it gets sorted out. What a terrible soap opera this is (thoroughly entertaining though, of course).
  15. When mongo Childes announced it yesterday he said 4pm kick off, and the programme would start at 3.30pm. Looks like the TV schedules haven't been updated for that though.
  16. Is this Horton Heath lad related to Miltonroader?
  17. I thought they were saying "boourns".
  18. Serbia got a £16,000 fine the last time they did it. Imagine a suitably pathetic fine this time round. And yes, England will also likely get a fine for failing to control their players/staff. FIFA - Fucking Incompetent Football Association.
  19. I really shouldn't be laughing at this, but
  20. Well if its just a simple one then there's plenty of tools out there to do the job; including the one Weston sent. Even MS Word will let you save a document as a web page; never used it myself, but I imagine for something extremely basic it'll be ok. Then download yourself a free ftp client such as filezilla to upload your files when they're done and get your site published. But yeah; do get something done properly eventually!
  21. I imagine the guy who runs it / ran it and the people who did actually use it, they might give a ****. Don't you think?
  22. Are you planning on designing/developing the website yourself or getting someone else to do it?
  23. The roof can't be closed "because the rain is too heavy". Polish efficiency at work
  24. I can't stand Cleverley or Welbeck being anywhere near the England side. Massively over-rated sh*te.
