Would it be stretching things a little too far to say that reading between the lines, Birch is basically saying that AA is unethical or is he insinuating something a little stronger?

The bank accounts might have been unfrozen and there might be money in it. But to get to the end of the season, is this ignoring paying off the first instalment of the current CVA? As mentioned, does this also include players' wages being paid, plus PAYE and NI. To have enough money in the account to pay wages for 5 months (presuming that they haven't been paid for Jan yet), the day to day running and the CVA means that they must have several million in there, so one has to ask why they didn't pay off HMRC. The administrator couldn't be telling a white lie, could he?

What's that expression? There are only 2 things certain in life, death and taxes. Whoever thought of that quip wasn't a Poopey supporter.

I agree with Appleton and his call for FL to have common sense so that there is equality throughout the season. Only way that I can see that happening is kicking them out of the League and wiping all results.
-
Conference and League 2 players would relish the chance to play at Championship level.
-
I imagine that getting the club on the cheap rather depends if they can stuff Chin or get him onto the unsecured creditors list. Then he can block the CVA which would have a certain irony to it.
-
I am presuming that they will be allowed emergency loans. If the FL had any balls, they would make it a condition that the player would have to come from the FL and that no PL players would be considered or accepted. If it is that much of an emergency then surely any port in a storm is good enough. Yes I know we are talking about Poopey and the normal way of doing things doesn't count, but........

That certainly happened in my household today.

With regards to the challenge about AA being appointed, surely if UHY are admin for CSI the parent company, it would make sense to do PFC as well? I know that they are supposed to be separate entities but no one is falling for that. But I can't quite see where the conflict of interests are, save for being Chin's little poodle.

do they have any youth? I thought that they had got rid of all of them so they could cry to FL to get replacements.

No. We didn't receive -10 in the Champ but took them the next season in L1.

I think that the CVA in place now is not worth worrying about as they have no chance at all of servicing it. There seems to never have been any intention to service it, as there seems to have been a **** or bust policy going on. Unfortunately, those in charge seem to have misread the situation and not been able to attract the relevant staff to push for promotion, which leaves the bust scenario that they are currently in. If there had been a modicum of sincerity and even the smallest of attempts to pay off some of their debts, then I am sure that people's opinions might be more sympathetic than they are. It is not just us "bitter and twisted" Saints fans that think it is way out of order, most people who have the slightest inkling on football finance also do.

You say it's a doddle. I upgraded my graphics card and then I had to upgrade the power supply as well. Graphics card is easy enough, but the power pack needs a bit more concentration to remember where everything plugs in!!

Ale be nice to Super Bock. (oooh!) As you point out, it's half term.

porn star used to come into the shop I worked in on a regular basis. once was in the newsagent next door and the owners were giggling over something and hid the mag which had this porn star in. Only problem was the name of the porn star was Glen.

What makes the most money, or rather, what will in the future? Papers (the thing you physically hold) have a limited future. Murdoch has already set up a pay as you read scheme on his digital media. It get's few people at the moment, but who knows how many in the future will sign up. {As an aside, Daily Mail is the most read on line "news" site in the world}. Sky on the other hand, makes a nice fat profit, and I suspect that a lot of this has to do with his desire to take over Sky. Andy666, why do you think that he will sell his shares in it?

Got coal in the stove this evening, as found a bag left over from last year, and it's good. Burns slow and lots of heat. As for chimneys, 80% of the heat goes up it, as opposed something like 15-20% with stoves. Mine used to be crap and just let cold air down it before I put the stove in.

Maybe I am being a little bit thick, but I am not sure Chainboy has any intentions of financing administration. As the major creditor, his demands can effectively push PCFC2010 v.5 into administration, as well as him not loaning any more money. That is unless he resumes control of the club as de facto owner and then puts them into administration.

LOL. There are no potential buyers.

This MP asking HMRC to get round the table is a bit of a red herring. HMRC's action triggered this latest panic, but even if they can sort out these problems, it isn't actually doing anything but delaying the seemingly inevitable. And that is probably only for one or two months.

I reckon that that is journalism for you and that when they say players' wages they do mean everyone's. But you are right - **** the players (and the Football Creditors rule). It is grossly unfair. There seems to be no personal responsibility - players themselves (or their union) should ensure that they can they can get paid and not rely on some dodgy law. If I was offered £30k a week by an employer that I knew patently couldn't afford it, then while the greedy pound signs would flash before my eyes, hopefully the head would see through the unsustainable bull's hit. It comes back to football not being with the rest of the world and thinking that they are an exception. Certainly they are not being dissuaded from thinking like that, so I hope HMRC wins it's Creditors case and that hopefully will bring a bit of reality back to the game.

Just watched Fast & Furious 5. No idea why I bought it, but actually quite liked it.

Just today bought a stove fan - Ecofan 812 Airmax (bleeding expensive) - esp as the only stove I could fit in - Clearview Pioneer 400, their smallest - was possibly on the limit size wise for the room. Anyway, had it going for a few hours and too damned hot to sit in the room as I don't like it at 23'c as I just fall asleep. Basically this fan has given about 3'c extra. Currently working through some laurel that I chopped down last year. Brilliant stuff as burns nice and slowly and is a weed in the garden. The silver birch goes a bit too quickly. Had to have a few big trees chopped and if I can store it, it should give enough wood for about 10 years!!!!

I wonder if HMG was petitioned to buy the McCain Stadium back in 2007 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_conf/6221674.stm
