Couldn't agree with you more. Can't understand why these celebes feel the need to have kids when they are in their 60s and should be lying on the beach drinking pina coladas. Having said that, my old boss has a friend (admittedly in his 90s) whose grandfather was born in 1791 (I know not relevant to the thread but interesting all the same)

Not sure why Pompey-mad didn't just link to this thread!

He's mad as a fish. His plan is to float is and be like Juve going from £20m to £400m!!!? "If Pompey go public the entire world has access" - WTF is he on!? And then the killer -

Ten Years After Hawkwind and if I want something a little more relaxing, JJ Cale.

So what? That's not really a good enough reason to fail the FPPT now, is it?

Is this the same Kenwyne Jones who went on strike and refused to play for us when he wanted that big money move?

I read that they are cutting $450bn over 10 years. At current rates that would be about a 6% cut (not including payments to veterans), or $450 billion from $7.5 trillion (over 10 years). Any more than that and I would suspect that the lobbyists would kick up somewhat of a stink. Where there is so much money involved...........

he needs to work on his goal celebration. The mincing one won't go down too well at 7.50 in the youtube clip

why would the Chinese want to throw £5m at it now, without getting a controlling stake? Much better to wait until it goes bust and buy the company lock stock and barrel.

I get my man to shop for me. Anyway, think that the Duke of Clarence is a 5yo blend. I prefer for everyday drinking stuff a 10yo single varietal usually either a Verdelho or Bual. Don't mind a Sercial but find Malmsey a bit OTT, a bit more expensive but well worth it.

If we do get "kicked out" of Europe (which I don't think will happen) it will be nice to have the option for self determination once more, which the EU hates and takes away from all member states, presumably for the "greater good". Then maybe we could start rebuilding this country. If we are competitive enough, then there won't be any problems with exports. Anyway, all these years, we have paid our share, obeyed the rules like nobody else (well possibly the Dutch have), paid a far higher percentage for defence than anyone else and generally been good Europeans, except for not wanting to throw away Sterling. Now, giving Merkozy plenty of warning that we couldn't agree to their terms for a new treaty especially if it meant attacking the City, everyone seems surprised that we have put our foot down.

Economy scaremongers are loving this. The reality is of course somewhat different. Exports to EU for 2011 until end of September 2011 = £118,196,730,000 Imports from EU for 2011 until end of September 2011 = £150,799,563,000 https://www.uktradeinfo.com/index.cfm?task=euearlypub So that's a £32bn Balance of Payments deficit in 9 months, so let's call that £40bn for the year. Then add £8bn a year or so for nett contributions, and round up a bit and call it £50bn that we "give" to EU via trade and contributions. I am not sure if our Balance of Payments with the rest of the world is still in surplus, but it certainly was up to 4 or 5 years ago, and I can't see that much having changed.

Have you actually looked into what these companies are. Apart from PFC there seems one proper company, North One that has the distribution rights or something for WRC. Apart from that the companies are a cycle gym, a digital and online management one (whatever that is), online sports streaming (very minor sports), free motor racing magazine, event management, mini-golf and a pathetic sports news www. I can't see much money being made by that lot, and certainly not enough to run a sports empire or even a nPC league club.

UmP, I have to agree with you. Particularly the crowd size - I know £30 is a fair bit, but given our position and how we are playing, I would have thought another 3-5K would have been there. But at least I could get a beer at half time without queuing for too long. With the Guly bit, the person next to me was thinking that maybe, like many South Americans do, he was feeling the cold (not that it was that cold).

Given our performance in the last 5 minutes, I think people are right to moan (or be worried). What I can't understand is that we ratchet things up a couple of gears, but then after 10-15 minutes have taken our foot off the gas. When we are running in top gear, we really are good, but after the 2nd goal went in, we laid off and looked much more average. And what a cross by Richardson! As for the booing, must say that I didn't notice any. And for the first time in a long while, I got really ****ed off with the off side rule (or rather players getting caught offside so often).

I posted a comment along the lines of being (white) British and that Britain would be better without people like her or some such thing, I can't really remember, to which I received the reply: IF YOUR WHITE {sic} YOU CAN DIE YOU B1TCH

R5L news stated CSI in admin but emphasised that the club was trading as normal.
-
does that mean PFC is insolvent as well?
-
I think that I would have to agree. The fans would "welcome" back an owner who has confessed to having no interest in owning a club!!??
-
I do find it a little strange. He has to pay a security of £75,000 when as much $1.3 billion has disappeared. Hmmmm. Now just suppose he has got all of it squirrelled away (which I am sure he hasn't well not until the court case says so), 10 years in prison or find your way to a country wit no extradition and kiss good by to £75k while enjoying $1.3bn. That's before his "wealth" of, what was it, £300m.
-
I wonder if HMRC or FSA might swing into action. I can't believe that they are not investigating something somewhere behind the scenes, and that journo intimated that there was a sort of D notice in place.
-
Would I be right in thinking that Antonov avoiding extradition is somewhere between zero and nil? Governments and financial authorities are really, really trying to crack down on money laundering and the judiciary doesn't look upon "potential" launderers any more favourably. I don't think not being able to get a fair trial nor human rights abuses is going to work this time.

Dubov is basically saying they're toast, isn't he?

Chainrai is interesting. It seems that he might be back in the picture, although the Lithuanian government might disagree. I had a thought that he would let PFC fold last time, but it seems that he managed to get someone in to take over, and (potentially) got some money for it. How? Who knows what goes on in the murky world of business? If he was prepared to let the club fold last time, I imagine that the same would be true now and that getting an owner in, would be nigh on impossible unless it was a fan's consortium.
