Morale...has Gastons pay package had an affect?
Dibden Purlieu Saint replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Saints
How do you know he is not on £60k? He was meant to be on £38k a week after tax. -
Has anyone gone back and looked at if he has ever played less than 15 minutes when fit?
-
After rumours that he is on circa £60k a week, and people criticising players like Lambert for being disinterested, has Ramirez's 'bumper' pay packet had an affect on the side? Personally I think Gaston is quality, and once fully fit will really show what a top quality player and prospect (we have to remember he is still only 21) we have, but has he been worth potentially disrupting the harmony in the squad. Thoughts?

Amazingly I think his job is more tenable now than when this thread came around, as obviously there is support for him somewhere in the Saints hierarchy.

What managers that are out of work currently would this be then? I don't believe he'd go for Redknapp, he knows the history of the club, so who out of work is currently an upgrade? I'm not saying that it's right or wrong, but in my opinion he will be sacked whatever now, and will be replaced pretty much instantaneously (within a week). I can't believe NC would make the same mistake twice.

What are you on about? I didn't say it never happens, you're the one that says a Manager is never kept on until a replacement is found. Lets say, hypothetically, that Cortese wanted to sack Adkins 3 weeks ago. He had decided that the results weren't good enough as he was aiming for Europe. However, after having his fingers burnt with the Pardew situation a few years earlier, he has decided that it is better to keep him on and not de-stabilise the club too much whilst he searches for a new Manager. I never said that Managers aren't sacked like that, but when form is bad (and form is something dictated by time and results) owners will start looking at what can be done. They don't just suddenly decide from one result that the Manager has to go, and there has usually been discussions going on as to who they can replace him with. Surely you can see that? The only reason someone would make a snap decision like that would be for gross misconduct, for instance Delio Rossi.

Nobheads.

But you wouldn't hear about it would you? The same as we haven't heard about it here. If you don't think that a lot of situations like this happen across football then you are sadly very mistaken.

That it be, that it be
-
No, I don't think so in all honesty.
-
Like the Times article, however, the more time we spend with Adkins the worse things are going to get. Personally the only reason I can see that he is still here is because we haven't identified someone to take over, and after last time with Wilkins in charge I think (unlike NA) NC has learnt from his mistakes. Don't be surprised that even if our form improves we see Adkins being randomly sacked when NC finds his new manager.
-
Totally disagree. Which players think this?
-
I had been dumbing down for others on the forum...
-
Oh yeah, there is no-one that is a bigger advocate of that than me (see my thread about a lack of 'quality activity' in which I got lambasted for being worried about the players we had brought in compared to other clubs).
-
People have said this. I'm not sure there is a lack of fight, but I think the team is lacking confidence, and it is more difficult to fight in that position. I think they want to do well, but are lacking the confidence/ability to do it currently.
-
Definitely. Tactical naivity in the Premiership is punished severely.
-
I think he was being sarcastic...
-
To be fair, that just shows that they are judgemental crap.
-
I find it more frustrating than you obviously.
-
I said majority...you can't say that the majority of the blame lies with those who made the signings. That doesn't include all the strange selections, tactics and substitutions. And I don't think Cortese is the saviour.
-
Wrong, wrong, wrong , wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong...you're wrong, you're wrong, you're wrong!!
-
I like Gazza, seems decent. We need to stop chopping and changing though.
-
It will be sad when he goes, but unfortunately in THIS football world there is no room for sentiment. We have been poor this season, and Adkins has got to take the majority of the blame. I just wished we had done this earlier, then perhaps we may have gained points from the last 3 games.

Hahaha, OP is clueless.
