  1. So far it seems that nearly every game has seen tactical mistakes by Adkins. City - Not starting Lambert United - Taking off our best 3 players Wigan - Starting with wrong formation Arsenal - Just the whole game in general! Villa - None Everton - Starting with wrong formation How many tactical mistakes is he allowed? Is he allowed carte blanche to make mistakes due to him getting us promoted 2 seasons running, or at what point do we decide he doesn't have the tactical nous for the Premiership? This season is starting to remind me of Poortvliets due to the fact that we are giving a good account of ourselves early in the season but with no cigar. I hope I am wrong.
  2. Thus showing you don't understand what you're talking about. The addiction is to the nicotine, not the cigarette. So if you use patches for 6 months, you've not actually taken away the addiction. Hence, after 6 months they may well go back to cigarettes as the addiction is still there.
  3. And those that quit by replacing the nicotine with patches etc?
  4. Which is so strange because it comes across in exactly that way. I think what you don't understand is that it is an addiction, so it's actually pretty difficult to quit. I think the best thing is not to comment on something you blatantly don't understand.
  5. Gave up last week in preparation for the baby (due date today...no twinges yet). Shame cos I really enjoyed it... I heard something about if you give up by 30 then a lot of the harm done is reversible.
  6. Well indeed. We didn't know. I remember Adkins categorically stating we wouldn't be going for Yoshida, which makes me think that we changed our mind very late on.
  7. Obviously he did very well this Summer, and also last year in identifying who we were trying to pick up in the transfer window, as well as seeming to know a lot about the inner workings of the club. I know that many clubs have specific journalists who they break news through, so I am wondering whether after the Sun debacle, he was identified by the club as someone that they would feed information to ahead of any other publications, to **** the Sun off. Choosing a journalist from it's biggest rival would be a way to do this.
  8. Jeff Le Taxi, nice sentiment. I will probably buy the song to show solidarity with a group of people who have had their lives pulled apart by this tragedy. Although I was only 5 at the time, I fully empaphise with these football fans, as it could have happened to any of us. Fair enough, people disagree. I do find it in bad taste that they would even comment on this thread though when there really is no need. If you disagree about doing something 'nice' towards what was a tragic loss of human life, why don't you keep it to yourselves instead of trying to coax a reaction from others and cause a debate over it.
  9. And look at the names on that list. They have all been very poor (too early to judge Rhodes I know). Also had longer on their contracts.
  10. Is it really? A young Championship striker with 1 year left on his contract? I would compare him against other players of that ilk, but Premier League teams don't seem to pay that much for players like that.
  11. I still can't believe Rodriguez cost £7m. What a joke.
  12. Ok, so what about this. I was the first GCSE year to do 2 languages. I was the first GCSE year to take Maths GCSE in Year 9. I was the first GCSE year to do Additional Maths GCSE in Year 11. I was the first GCSE year to do half A levels for Drama in Year 11. I was the first year to take AS Levels. The way I see it is sh!t happens, you deal with it. GCSE's mean jaff all. If you're dropping out of school and going to work then it's not going to make a difference to what you're going into. If you're going to College then you have the opportunity to get a better qualification. Getting into College isn't like getting into University.
  13. What an excellent post.
  14. I mentioned this name the other day in a thread on here. You want someone who can manage a 4-5-1 formation then Benitez is your guy.
  15. I do not disagree with this in the slightest.
  16. He slipped against United a few times, he had the wrong studs on and that is a basic error that should have been sorted during the warm-ups. But he won't do that again. I'm not saying Clyne is the issue, but I don't really think we would have done worse with Richardson, and it may have shielded him slightly from the humiliation of being part of that back 5.
  17. Well indeed. That is a pretty awesome team by the way...shame QPR have very little up front or they could push for a Europa League place.
  18. Obviously, he is going to be a very good player. He's good going forward and has good pace to get the team out of trouble. However, he is very suspect defensively. Most of the time where he has to use his pace is to get himself out of trouble due to poor positional play (call him Southamptons Micah Richards). There have also been a lot of chances and goals come from his side of the pitch, maybe even more than from the much maligned left of Fox. I am wondering why people on this forum seem to be glossing over this. I question (and I did before the season began) the wisdom of throwing him in to the first 4 games where he was trying to get to grips with a new defence in a new league ahead of Richardson. Young players are impressionable and these games really could have dented his confidence. Thoughts?
  19. Sorry to say this, but he is right. That group of players is far better than what we have, and personally I would have put nearly all of them in the starting lineup ahead of what we currently have. Only one I wouldn't is actually Park. Cesar Bosingwa Nelson Jos Fabio Lallana Mbia Granero Hoillett Lambert Ramirez
  20. Can we have a poll please mods? Who's more boring, Appy or TDD? I'm going TDD.
  21. The quality of the league was far worse last season than this year. This will be our biggest issue I believe.
  22. Benitez would suit the way we need to play perfectly. But no chance.
  23. Vlaar, Collins and Cuellar. Not great, but better than what we have.
  24. Sorry, but I feel Ramirez was a quality signing. We were also told over and over that more than 1 transfer can take place at a time, so don't really get that point.
