Ironically, last time I went to Wembley I (and a good few others on here I suspect) was going mental after a certain Italian player scored, and proudly joined in as we all sang his name. Will be none of that tonight.

I seem to remember the last time we did a kind of player exchange deal with Blackburn, we got James Beattie. He didn't turn out too bad in the end.

But can any of them offer the big step up in wages he would be demanding? Probably not. -

The issue that Vest and Ings are going to face is that, while they both may feel they are capable of playing at a higher level than lower mid-table PL, I don't think either of them are very high on the target list of any of the clubs who could afford to pay them what they think they are worth. -
It was soft, but Maehle has only got himself to blame. If you stick your foot out like that and miss the ball, chances are you're going to give away a pen. Anyway, it was justice served as far as I'm concerned, because there's no way they should have been given the FK they scored from.

It was idiotic for sure, but there is no possible way of identifying where in the stadium it came from. I don't see how England can be charged with failing to control their fans when you can't prove it was even an England fan (even though it obviously was).

Oh I really miss his summer meltdown posts. The sweepstake on when it would happen was always enjoyable.

Don't know what got into Pickford last night but he was very poor. Almost cost us a couple of times in the 1st half with some dreadful distribution, and I really think he should save that FK because it was nowhere near the corner, it was almost the centre of the goal. Good job it didn't go to a shoot out, because he would have needed to be at his absolute best. Overall, although not wasn't pretty, I think England deserved to win even if we were a little fortunate with the OG and the penalty award. If It had gone to pens and Denmark had won, it would have been a travesty.

Wishing our own player well doesn't explicitly mean we want his team to knock England out. It's perfectly possible (in fact, very likely) that the club would like to see (a) JV to have a decent game and give a good account of himself in a semi final of a major international tournament, and (b) Denmark to still lose. -

Why are they angry? -
Still not quite the same though is it. He had a good season in the Champ and then had a good season in the PL after getting his team promoted. Just like when we came up in 2012 and kept the core of our team from L1 together, they all had a good understanding and played well together as a team. Having a good season in a struggling Champ team, and then being signed by a PL team for the next season, is clearly a very different scenario so you can't make an accurate comparison.

KS is a very competent, but not exceptional keeper. I'm not sure I would have him over Pickford on current form.

Adams v Sheff Utd last season.

Agreed. Looks far more composed in front of goal than Che. I think they could link up quite well.

He looks like an extra from the Godfather

Busquets off. That's a pretty hard act for anyone to follow.

"You shall not pass!" 😂

Yeah it was a great shot, no doubt. But Rio is absolutely right - Garcia shouldn't be letting him shoot with his right foot there.
-
Oh what a surprise. An Italian player down injured. Did not see that coming 😐
-
It's got 0-0 and ET written all over it. Good. That will be Spain's 3rd consecutive 120-min game. If they get through to the final they will be spent and there for the taking if we can beat Denmark.

Elyounoussi was apparently a long-term target as well. Just sayin'

Sheffield United / Wednesday Notts Forest / County In fact, pretty much anywhere there are two similarly sized clubs in the same city. It's an entirely different kind of rivalry than what we have with Pompey for example. It's easier to 'other' people who have no family/school connections. Anyway, it's not just the fans that aren't happy about Benitez's appointment. I have it on very good authority that a number of the players don't like it either. He might well have already lost the dressing room before he's even taken a single training session.

Kane versus Vestergaard. If it was a PL match, there's only one way that would end.
