Good for us really. we want every 3rd downwards as far away as possible. That's why Blackpool West Ham result was alright yesterday. Screw winning the Championship, promotion is good enough for me.
-
What you claimed I said isn't in that quote at all. You changed what I said to suit what you want me to have said. Anyways, I'm bored of this discussion. It's going nowhere and you are just twisting and changing what I say.
-
As a dirty liberal , I subscribe to the harm principle. Do and say as much as you want as long as it doesn't limit another persons freedom or physically harm another person. Basically means, the maximum amount of freedom possible whilst maintaining a like for like for all. The only time physical harm can be used is to stop another person doing it themselves. I'd say Saudi Arabia with their for example stoning of adulterers and homosexuals, and laws that limit equality(thus not like for like freedom), it is not, for me 'live and let live'.
-
Now you are just putting words in my mouth.
-
Indeed. Saudi Arabia and such are totally archaic. The problem comes with theocracy really...

Absolutely the best way. Fast to load, easy to read. The other way in safari is quite fiddly. Definitely worth the cash and if you use other forums, there are lots integrated with it.

I have absolutely no idea what you are on about. You are twisting/changing my words and asking leading questions.
-
Exactly as VFTT said. Moderate religion is fine, but when taken in its literal sense, it's dangerous.
-
I know many Muslims and none of them are 'backward'. To be honest, I don't even like the term Backward. I would say that many religious texts have parts which are not nice at all, but as I said, thankfully in this country as Pap said people 'pick and choose'.
-
Muslims aren't backward, no.
-
And you, Turkish And back to religion.... most religions are quite backwards when taken in their literal form, because they were formed in an age of racism, sexism and just general discrimination. They are a product of their time. Thankfully, in this country, we don't take Christianity in its literal form anymore.

My opinion is not sacred at all. It is one within a pool of opinions, though obviously as it is mine I'll defend it and argue it. Please learn the difference between that and fascism!

I guess we used our 'intervention card' on Libya... I think if it goes on and on, there might end up being something more than sanctions, but while China and Russia are opposed it'll be hard to, because I don't think the US is going to bypass the UN like it did for Iraq over Syria(it might do on Iran though, but that's a different story).
-
Turkish, why do you seem to think that Liberalism is just letting everyone say their opinion and then just not challenging any of it?! Liberals believe that every opinion has the right to be aired, but also challenged... the whole point of liberalism is ALLOWING debate. It celebrates that we are all individuals with different opinions. But it doesn't allow any opinion to sacred.

I'm a bit more successful than you imagine, I'm afraid so not fact. But please, continue with the playground insults. They add to your arguments. This thread is ruined now. It was a good one at the beginning as well.
-
I was more referring to you. May I just compliment you on your 'single 19 year old virgin' jibe.
-
And we've descended into personal abuse again.
-
The survey at the beginning of this thread, and which set off this debate, points towards what we said. Maybe will label themselves Christian in a sentimental way for tradition and what not, but when their beliefs are questioned... they aren't that Christian at all.
-
One Direction are on the latest acts to come out of Simon Cowell's publicity machine, the 'X factor'. They are pretty awful.
-
I guess what is more important is gap between 2nd and 3rd... winning the thing can come second.
-
Thankyou for bringing up the enlightenment!

All the Romanians at work are quite strongly religious.
-
So I decided to speak to my Romanian friend at work who is a Christian. I asked her if she thought the UK was a Christian country. She said no, and actually said it was a bit of a culture shock coming over here at just how non-religious we are compared to her country. She said it was not as she imagined.

We're getting there. Our practices are just a little behind the attitudes that surveys such as the one mentioned originally in this thread suggest. We are ruled by a Christian yes, I suppose you mean the Queen, but our real 'ruler' is David Cameron who is also Christian... but David Miliband and Nick Clegg are both atheists... only a matter of time now, not that it really matters.
