Reading can't keep winning EVERY game between now and the end of the season. That would be phenomenal. We just need to match them, beat them at home and then we go up.

Obama will win. The economy is on the up, and none of the candidates have broad appeal and the top two have serious weaknesses. Romney flip flops and is too moderate, has no personality and can not attack Obama on healthcare because he introduced almost exactly the same reforms as state governor of Massachusetts. Evangelicals are also wary of his Mormon faith. He also has trouble with his gaffes that make him look like a rich 'let them eat cake type'. Obama doesn't have that problem. Santorum can't appeal to moderates and swing voters because of his harsh social policy, but he does at least have more concentration on social policy which is where this election will be increasingly fought due to the economy improving. But he will not win an election. Too right wing and authoritarian. A lot of the serious republicans like Jeb Bush and Mike Huckabee have sat this one out, maybe because they assume it's Obamas? Expect them back next time once Obama's gone.

That's pretty sad. Hardly 'heat of the moment' stuff if it happened over 2 years. In my opinion, after the first time(assuming it wasn't 'planned' as such) was the time to speak up.

Hmmm, but I guess if you are no longer happy, there is not much you can do about it after trying for a certain amount of time. No point flogging a dead horse(life is far too short for that) and people change. I think if you must go off with someone else, you should have the dignity and respect for the other person to end that relationship first. It makes it better for all persons involved, and when there are kids involved you should be extra careful. A lot of people do seem to stay together for the kids though and their marriages seem to break up soon afterwards.

Obviously I can't talk about a mid-life crisis, but out of my friends I'd say a good 1/3 to 1/2 parents are divorced. It just seems to be the way it goes these days. My parents have been married almost 30 years though.

I wonder who the youngest poster on here is. I raise you(or maybe lower?!). 19.

The Guardian broadly speaking is a great newspaper. As is the Independent and the Telegraph.
-
Have to broadly agree. News Corp is a massive multinational business, and the money News International makes is peanuts to them. It also sounds like they would have offloaded it a long time ago if Rupert Murdoch wasn't so sentimental about it. Because of his position in the company however, and how profitable the rest of the company is, they seem to have let it go up till now. I doubt that will last much longer, now his British newspaper publishing business is threatening the stability of the entire company.

How could AVB possibly do a decent job with Abramovich breathing down his neck all the time? Still, interim manager until the end of the season... and then maybe the return of Mourihno?!
-
Exactly. You can't always win beautiful. The best teams still win when they have a crap game and that is what today was.

I swear Neimi had a blinder against Blackburn one year as well? Or was that Friedel, my memory is hazy.

Everyone was a bit crap, but I'd probably pick out Cork, and then Guly when he came on as the worst. And I am a big fan of Guly so it pains me to say that.
-
Sometimes you gotta win ugly.

Feel sorry for him. About time Abramovich woke up and realised his meddling is the problem, not the managers. Thank **** the Liebherrs are hands off owners.

His whole manifesto was about keeping his country safe from the 'Marxist multiculturalism' and stopping it from becoming a country of anything but white Christians. He was a right wing Christian fundamentalist. At least, that was the analysis at the time. -
I know, several thousand more posts than me and in less time! Ah well, can't beat a good bit of hypocrisy.
-
Brilliant. I think I give up.
-
What do you work as? (if you don't mind me asking)
-
Brilliant, pick out one word rather than answer the post. But it was a badly used word. Let's say how well it helped the students integrate into the school. How is this relevant again?

I do not live in a little white middle class town. And at schools these days(last 10 years), they push teaching about other cultures a lot and make you experience them. My primary school a few years ago actually won an award for the way it was coping with students with English not as their first language. I have obviously, having only lived in the UK, experienced British culture, which for me is all about hybridity and as Mikey quite nicely pointed out, tonnes of influences from all over the world. Most people have only experienced to a large degree, one way of living because they have only lived in one country or area.
-
That's not what he said, he said 'living in a city like this', he didn't say you can only live in a city, otherwise you only experience some sort of monoculture. He just said where he lives in cosmopolitan. He didn't say only cities were that way.
-
Well, having only lived in two places in my life. One, Southampton, and the other my current location, that's probably true. Hampshire is very white and middle class. Though where I live has significant multicultural communities especially romanian and nepalese, especially in the last 5-10 years and its growing. But I do not understand why that would mean I am not allowed to have an opinion on anything? It's crazy logic.
-
I have never ever said I live in a 'little middle class village' or a 'small town' because it isn't true! You really do make stuff up to suit yourself. It's also quite irrelevant.
-
I'm not telling you where I live, but it's certainly not a 'little village'.
